Our home Earth is unique and in it daily occur natural phenomena that go unnoticed for most of us. In this list that is the first part of a series that we will be publishing in the future will remind us of the wonderful world that surrounds us and motivate us to take care of this beautiful planet.

Bioluminescence

We start this interesting list with a natural phenomenon that is impressive and wonderful. This is bioluminescence. What is bioluminescence? It is the production and emission of light by a living organism; In the marine habitat by millions of plankton and algae. When disturbing some organism spectacular lights are produced in the water. Curious, right? Now, this natural phenomenon is not limited to the sea, we also see examples of bioluminescence in the earth, for example fireflies.

Supercell

What is the supercell? A supercell or supercell is an immense storm in rotation. It can last for several hours as a single entity. These storms are most likely to produce long-lasting tornadoes and pieces of hail the size of an orange.

snowrollers

The "snowball" occurs when strong winds collect wet snow and blow along the ground. That is, the ground must be covered by a layer of ice and then there must be loose wet snow on top, with a temperature close to freezing. Then the winds create beautiful rolls of snow, which from afar appear to be snowballs, and in some cases even look like giant donuts of snow.

A very strange and strange phenomenon where factors like the surface, the wind strong enough to move the rolls of snow and gravity, come into play, so almost always the rolls of snow develop in the hills.

Fire rainbow

Also called arc circunhorizontal. It is very similar to a rainbow, but shorter and thicker. A strict set of conditions is required for the rainbow of fire to appear. First, only high cirrus clouds formed by small ice crystals occur in the clouds. To produce the colors of the rainbow the rays of the sun must enter the ice crystals at a precise angle to give the prism effect of the color spectrum and the sun must be at a height of at least 58 degrees above the horizon. Without these conditions, this extraordinary natural phenomenon can not occur.

Fire tornado

This is another rare natural phenomenon occurring on Earth. It is not common but when it happens it can be dangerous. The frightening swirl or fire tornado occurs when hot air comes into contact with fire on the ground. Although the fire eddies are known to last only a couple of minutes, in 2012 we read the case of a fire tornado that lasted 40 minutes in Australia, the photos you will see in that report are shocking.

Lenticular clouds

nubes-lenticulares-ciudad-cabo-sudafrica.jpg

Lenticular clouds are formed from the descending winds of the mountains. The wind blows to most of the clouds we see in the sky, but the lenticular clouds seem to remain in the same place. The air circulates up and over the mountain, and when the air goes beyond the top of the mountain, then a lenticular cloud is formed, then the air evaporates on the side that is further away from the mountain.

What do you think of these impressive natural phenomena? Sure you already have some ...
