One Hell of a Total Solar Eclipse

Saw the Total Solar Eclipse from the courtyard of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. My brother was hospitalized with severe pneumonia on August 19.

His hospitalization threw my life for a loop. My mom and I were spending all day and sometimes night in the room with my brother. It was hard to see him in such a helpless condition. It is also hard to be in that kind of an environment because I am so sensitive to energy. Hospitals are strange places. Most of the people that work there are good people. But Western medicine is not designed to heal people. It is only designed to treat physical symptoms.

Got some really good insight into why most doctors are unemotional. They develop psychological issues around losing patients and giving patients and families bad news. And people don't know how to process their emotions. So they shut them off in an attempt to stop the pain. Doctors and other medical staff should be given counseling on a consistent basis.

Even though my life has been in total upheaval for the past few weeks, I have managed to maintain a positive attitude. I met a lot of people while at the hospital, and most people are good-hearted and decent. When my brother was released on August 29, the staff seemed genuinely sorry that we were leaving though they were glad my brother was well enough to be released. I try to leave a trail of love and kindness wherever I go. The only thing that truly matters is the person I am: how I respond to others and to circumstances and situations.
