Now it should be a No-brainer that we should always Respect our Elders. But in this Busy Lifestyle we sometimes tend to forget such things.

I have to be entirely Honest with you Guys there was a Time when I was so Busy with my Life that I paid no Heed to my Elders. But that all changed when I was in my 12th Standard when i got a reality check.

You always have to keep this in mind that it's those Elders that have raised you from an Infant and almost most of the Characteristics you have is because of those Elders.

One important point, one day you will become an elder yourself and you would like to have respect in return.

Yes I failed to mention that Point. Thanks for that.

We have to be aware that we will be filling those shoes in the Future.

Your post is very important in remembering me friend @arunava. I like you explanation in your post.

@arunava.... I really appreciate your post. Generations of today lack the concept of "respect".. They have also forgotten they will be an elder one day. I believe respect is reciprocal and it should be given to those whom deserves it. From what u said "elders raised you from infant" if most youngsters of today remember this word, I think they w always stay humble and respectful.

Yes @arunava this is very good habit for all the people. Always respect the elders. Becausr respect of elders is moral obligation. Respects of elders show the personality of people.

That sounds like a typical African voice. In this part of the world, we don't take such for granted especially in public places. You mess with an elder, you get a whack!

Oh thanks for the reminder. Our elders should sure always be respected. Especially our parents. When we begin to behave somehow and tend to get busy, they just conclude that you hate them. Talking from experience.
One should just always try to create time for elders. They really always love to get attention.

Yes, that should be a given.

You're right. It's a very important thing for families and communities.

Well yes buddy as maturity comes along thus the sense of getting responsible comes to our mind as well !

We indeed should respect our elders !

Thats what they teach us in India! Right from your childhood..respect your elders

You are right, sadly I see in Australia the mindset of the younger generation are so consumed with them selves and the spirit of selfishness consumes them. For instance they would never show respect on a bus or train when there's no seats left by hopping up and offering their chair to an elderly person standing.

Why? People are forgetting basic principles like respect, appreciation, gratitude, patience, humility and love.
If only we would understand that they have had a life time on this earth and their grey hairs of wisdom can teach us many things.
But we can be confused by their slow approach, when the world is moving so fast, that we forget their footsteps were hear first

@arunava it's true that we should respect our elders . But my philosophicalview make me think from experience... Why can't our elders respect us in reciprocity...
We respect them but they do not us...
Because they are elders., they believe they can do anything and go free with is...
It's wrong of them. Sometimes it makes me want to disrespect my elders and speak sense into them.
