Crisis in Syria

Children and families have been trapped in the crossfire of the deadly Syrian conflict for nearly seven years. Mercy Corps team members are on the ground, working tirelessly to provide lifesaving aid for hundreds of thousands of people inside Syria every month.

As the war nears the beginning of its eighth year, children and families are still facing the horrors of war every day. Some 400,000 people are trapped in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta region, with little to no access to food, medicine or sanitary supplies. In the past week, more than 500 people have died and at least 1,400 have been injured in a fresh onslaught of violence. Each day, the situation grows more dire.
