Hardness Test

Hardness is an example of mechanical properties of such materials (e.i. metals, ceramics and plastics). According to its definition, hardness is a measure the resistance to localized plastic deformation. Hardness is dependent on ductility, plasticity, strength and etc., There are many many ways to measure the hardness of a materials, through scratch hardness, indention hardness and by rebound hardness . The most common test to use by mineralogy is the scratch test (Mohs scale).
