GRANDMA's BELIEFS - Tummy Ache / Diarrhea

Seeing my baby crying because something is aching is very hard for me, i feel irresponsible everytime my baby is sick.

Last Friday when I fetch my baby from school I was waiting for him to come out of their classroom but he's not coming out so I came in and he's waving at me come here nanay(mom), so I already felt something is wrong because usually he will come out by himself and excited to show his stars for the day, he said Nanay my tummy is ouchy, my poop is on my legs so I was worried why?, he is wearing diaper so how come?... so I immediately carried him to the comfort room... and his poop overflowed his diaper (excuse me) so we went home and gave a call to his pediatrician, she told me to give him pedialyte and erceflora. And we must bring him to her clinic the next day for check up and laboratory.

So the next day we went for fecalysis and thank God it was cleared no parasite or bacteria... but still his poop was watery, so his pedia adviced to continue pedialyte and erceflora...

So when we get back home, my Mom reminded me of Grandma's way when one of us is having diarrhea or tummy is aching.

GRANDMA's BELIEF to cure diarrhea after checking up with pediatrician, We call it LU-OP (loo-op) (a triditional way to cure something), cause oldies believe that because of the sudden changes in weather, like sometimes it is so hot then all of a sudden it will rain, make sure the kids are not outside because the soil vapors (singaw ng lupa) will cause their tummy to ache and worst diarrhea, so we give it a go cause that might be the reason, so here's the process

First you have to dig some soil just enough to make a round shaped soil, size of your palm.

Put the round shaped soil into the fire, leave it there until it is completety dry and hard like it was cracking

get a dipper with water

When the soil is ready, put it in the dipper and make sure your kid is on top of it so he will inhale the smoke. then put some water from the dipper with soil to your child's tummy..

Make sure to do this after sunset

So we did this yesterday, And this morning when my baby went to comfort room his poop is as hard as the rock already 😄😄😄

Everyone has their own belief, it is up to us if we want to follow the traditional way, for me there's nothing wrong to follow as long as you know that my baby is safe, But still my faith is with HIM...
