So i recently went to this place called Manzaan Fish market in Phuket thailand.
Ive been told that this is one of those tourist spots to experience while visiting the island.
The gimmick is quite interesting- it is a fish market where you can buy live or fresh fish and seafood, then walk a little distance to a set of hawker stalls where they will cook the fish and seafood for you.
Personally i think you go there to pay for the experience. Haggling is expected but don't assume you’re not paying a premium. I see alot of angry tourists who haggled with the expectation of matching the price of normal seafood restaurants.
As for the cooking itself, i personally think you could get better tasting cooking elsewhere. Its best to order cooking that is as simple as possible, and even then they will try to scam you by pretending there is a language barrier. Just like in my case here where i ordered simple ginger steamed fish but instead they go and put all these random herbs and spices on top.
Anyway, its an experience. Worth going but expect to walk out of the place with a lighter wallet.
