Israeli company Novamed has created a device SensAheart, with which you can predict the onset of a heart attack. SensAheart works like a glucometer-a drop of blood taken from the patient is placed on the test strip, and after five minutes the device produces a finished result. The device analyzes the concentration of troponin and FABP3-proteins, the change in the level of which is associated with a heart attack.shutterstock_646534813.jpg

The device can be used both by cardiologists and by patients themselves. The result can be obtained in the shortest possible time , much faster than using other methods. Diagnostic accuracy SensAheart reaches 95%.

Emil Katz, head of Novamed and one of the developers of the device, explains that the idea of creating SensAheart appeared after several of his close relatives and friends died of a heart attack. Some of them experienced unpleasant symptoms for several days, but did not seek medical attention. Due to the fact that they did not pay attention to the disturbing symptoms and were not in the hospital on time, they could not be saved.

Two strips will indicate a positive result indicating a high risk of heart attack. Their detection indicates that the patient needs to be taken to hospital and given emergency assistance.19914485_sensaheart-can-test-for-heart-attacks_tc44b8701.jpg

The cost of the device is about 30 dollars. SensAheart is already used by doctors in Israel and some European countries. The developers expect that in the future the new product will be used by cardiologists in the United States.
