Taman Semiliar

PERADABAN sebuah kota salah satunya terlihat dari banyaknya kota di taman. Ketika angka kejahatan di Bogota, Kolombia, sangat tinggi, wali kota saat itu memutuskan untuk memperbanyak taman yang menjadi tempat sosialisasi warganya. Sepintas, tidak ada hubungan antara angka kejahatan dengan taman kota. Malah, bisa-bisa kejahatan semakin tinggi karena ada tempat bagi para kriminal untuk beraksi di tengah taman yang sunyi.

Faktanya, taman menjadi tempat sosialisasi warga kota justru menurunkan angka kriminalitas. Taman menjadi tempat berbagai kelas masyarakat kota untuk saling berinteraksi. Percampuran kebiasaan dalam keluarga terjadi di taman, saling memengaruhi. Rasa kesetiakawanan sosial muncul, yang pada akhirnya menerbitkan rasa kebersamaan yang tinggi. Di kota besar dunia, New York, Central Park adalah taman yang cukup terkenal. Warga kota bisa duduk membaca di atas rumput atau bercanda bersama keluarga.

Beberapa waktu lalu, di Lhokseumawe juga riuh masalah taman. Bukan karena kriminal yang tinggi di tengah masyarakat. Melainkankan karena dugaan adanya tindak pidana yang diduga merugikan uang rakyat yang dialokasikan dalam APBK Lhokseumawe. Seorang anggota DPRK menyebutkan, taman Riyadhah yang dipugar itu hampir satu miliar rupiah.

Lihatlah kondisi taman semiliar itu. Tidak ada lagi tempat untuk warga untuk berinteraksi, duduk sambil bercanda bersama keluarga, teman, atau bicara serius tentang bisnis. Tidak ada lagi wi-fi gratis yang biasanya digunakan pelajar, mahasiswa, bahkan wartawan yang ingin mengirim berita. Dulu, sebelum direhab, di taman Riyadhah itu sering digelar berbagai acara kreatif yang menjadi ajang untuk prestasi generasi muda. Ada deretan baju untuk pijat refleksi yang konon bisa mencegah dan mengobati berbagai penyakit. Ada lomba menggambar bagi anak, atau lomba pidato menyambut tahun baru Islam. Lhokseumawe mulai terlihat sebagai sebuah kota yang berbudaya, kota berperadaban yang masyarakatnya mendapat tempat untuk berkreasi, menyalurkan hobi dan bakat, berkompetisi sambil meningkatkan ukhuwah sesama warga kota. Itulah ciri-ciri kota yang moderen dan beradab.

Tapi kini, gerbang taman terkunci. Pohon-pohon yang teduh kini sudah berganti dengan bunga plastik yang tak memberi kesegaran apa pun. Tidak ada warga berinteraksi, tak terlihat anak-anak bercengkerama. Batu untuk pijat refleksi masih ada beberapa, tetapi dengan pintu gerbang yang terkunci, siapa yang berani masuk.

Tampaknya, pemerintah Kota Lhokseumawe lebih melihat dari aspek proyek dibandingkan fungsi dalam pembangunan taman. Mereka seolah tidak paham, tidak punya visi dalam membangun sebuah kota menuju kota yang moderen dan berperadaban. Kota Banda Aceh terlihat jauh lebih bagus dalam menata kota. Jadi, tidak perlu jauh-jauh untuk melakukan studi banding hanya untuk menata taman kota. Soalnya, biaya studi banding terkadang malah bisa membangun seribu taman lainnya. [@ayijufridar]

One Billion Park

CIVILIZATION a city one of them seen from the many cities in the park. When the crime rate in Bogota, Colombia, was so high, the mayor decided to reproduce the park that became the place for the socialization of its citizens. At first glance, there is no relationship between crime figures with city parks. In fact, crime may get higher because there is a place for criminals to act in the middle of a deserted garden.

In fact, the park became a place of socialization of the city residents actually lowered the crime rate. The park became the place for various classes of urban communities to interact with each other. The mixing of family habits takes place in the garden, affecting each other. A sense of social solidarity emerges, which in turn produces a high sense of togetherness. In the big city of the world, New York, Central Park is a pretty famous park. Lately, in Lhokseumawe (Aceh, Indonesia) also boisterous park troubles. Not because of the high criminals in the community. But because of alleged existence of a crime allegedly detrimental to public money allocated in Lhokseumawe APBK (regional income and expenditure budgets). A member of the DPRK said the restored Riyadhah park was almost a billion rupiah.

Look at the condition of the park a billion. There is no place for citizens to interact, sit around joking with family, friends, or talk seriously about business. No more free wi-fi is usually used by students, college students, even journalists who want to send news. In the past, before the rehabilitation, in the park Riyadhah was often held various creative events that became the arena for the achievements of the younger generation. There is a row of clothes for reflexology that supposedly can prevent and treat various diseases. There is a drawing competition for children, or a speech race welcoming the Islamic new year. Lhokseumawe is starting to look like a cultured city, a civilized city whose people have a place to be creative, channel hobbies and talents, compete while increasing ukhuwah (fraternity) fellow citizens. That is the character of modern and civilized cities.

But now, the park gate is locked. The shady trees are now replaced with plastic flowers that do not give any freshness. No residents interacted, invisible children mingle. Stone for reflexology there are still some, but with a locked gate, who dares to enter.

Apparently, the city government of Lhokseumawe is more looking at the aspect of the project than the function in the construction of the park. They do not seem to understand, have no vision in building a city to a modern and civilized city. The city of Banda Aceh looks much nicer in managing the city. So, do not need all the way to do comparative studies just to organize the city park. You see, the cost of comparative studies can sometimes even build a thousand other parks.
