In my last post, I pushed my knee too hard after a surgery 7 months ago. I went to the doctor today to make sure everything was ok with it. I was worried I had messed it up and would have to have it redone. I got to his office and went to get some x-rays. He came in to see me and went over the x-rays with me and told me everything looked just fine. The pop in the knee was pushing the muscles and everything that hold the kneecap in place popping because of the twisting montion of me getting on my feet from the ground and it caused basically a bad sprain.

That was a great relief as I was worried about it. He then told me that he wanted me to wear a knee brace so this would be likely to happen again as I am active in remodeling and building houses and etc. He told me to go easy on it till the swelling went down and the tenderness was gone. He did not recommend a brace right after surgery because wearing a knee brace too tight can cause blood clots and he did not want that and now with me being really active I should be wearing one. So right from the office, I had a knee brace.

I gave me two options, one that would hold my leg straight and not let it bend, which was a no-go in my book as I would never wear it because I would not be able to really do anything with that knee brace. Option two, the one pictured above that would allow me to bend my knee and walk pretty much normal. I will be able to drive and do everything I need to with this one, as it bends on hinges in the middle and supports the placement of the kneecap and will hold it together for me.
So for me, it is back to doing what I need to be doing soon. Thanks for all the concern and the encouragement on the last post about this. Hope everyone has a great night/day, whatever it is in your neck of the woods. Thanks for spending some of your time reading our little blog.

I use that very brace from time to time. It works well for me when I have overdone it in the garden or happen to twist it just wrong.
