Do You Even Lift Brah?

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired so instead of taking more of a hiatus from the Gym (because working out in solitude is preferred especially for a geeky gal like myself)....so am dragging my sleepy butt outta bed and doing resistance bands!

You basically can create your own gym at least to get a bit shredded for under 100 bucks and not be lugging around heavy equipment, just big ass rubber bands (for all intensive purposes). Those rubberbands are magical, for about 50 bucks to 100 you can get an over the door pull up bar that doubles to do some pushups so you don't look like Homer Simpson and different types of resistance bands will target different zones and some are wonderfully diverse so you can basically do human origami.

The over the door ones are good just be careful for the dreaded snap back which if you can imagine is like taking a huge rubberband on your wrist snapping it....now picture doing that to your body and you may get K.O.'d. Am getting my groove back slowly and am doing this for all the people who don't like the gym "scene" and want to stay healthy because some of us are actually shy and introverted off of here and don't wanna do a spin class or have some juiced out dude wanna tell you about an awesome new vitamin :P

Thats the spirit! Make sure to keep a rounded workout so you don't turn into a Gorilla. Yoga can really help to keep blood flowing through your body and keep your brain happy. I am fortunate enough to be in a great area for hiking so I will try to get out for ~10 miles a week. Its really great, you can go at your own pace and there isn't usually anyone else to bother you. I would also recommend trying out a climbing gym if there is one close to you. Climbing has certainly changed my life, and the people involved are typically super friendly.

Final note, back in grade school we had a weight room day and played with the giant rubber bands. One exercise was to tie the band to a wall and try to walk/run as far as you could against the resistance. One of the 90 lb students tried this and lost his footing, causing him to be thrown like a bowling ball back at a group of students. We all got a great laugh from that.
Good luck!

thanks and yeahhhhhh gotta just keep going forward that's the key and the rubberband backlash is real! lol

Are you telling me I can really look as fit as you and not have to leave the house or stop eating trash?

Rubber Bands dude....giant Rubber Bands

Steroid users are intense. I agree to whatever their meal plan is until they leave.

good call, roid rage is real

I recently got a band for my wife. I've used it once. It's not bad.

I like my weights though.

Good call, you Greys may need a more intense workout regime

We are always in the House of Gains.
