Richard Stallman Speaks on Software Freedom back in 2012!

in life •  7 years ago

GNU Founder Richard Stallman speaks on software freedom and "free" software back in 2012. He speaks about how proprietary software controls users and "free" software is controlled by the users. I think it is a really an eye opener about how we are tricked to use corporations and let corporations use us.
It must be noted that "free" software does not necessarily mean it's gratis, rather it gives the user freedom to change and redistribute by one condition that it is "free".

Let me know in the comments below whether you believe in "free" software world or happy with the proprietary software.

I also have two posts on steemit regarding free software that I have developed.

I believe free software when applied to the right hardware can produce solutions to alot of the worlds major problems. programming should not always be about making money and extreme capitalism, there are plenty of ways programmers can make money, games, etc.
