ANTI-ADDICTION ART PROJECT /painting, poetry, body painting, video, photography/

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

This week were 40 days of the death of my aunt. I lost my father in 2011 and her, his sister in October 2017. Both died from alcoholism. The pain they caused was huge. He was a writer/poet, and she, ballerina & choreographer. They did not plan it, they had no wish or power to fight. Last year I created this anti-addiction project. I wish there was another way to support others and help them, to get them out of the dark path. I am sharing it in the hope that those, sitting alone in the dark will find the light from within. The core of the problem is mostly in the childhood. Be aware, give love, be there for the others.
Love & light.

This is an anti addiction art project. The statistics about alcohol abuse are shocking. Almost every person has had a friend or a family member, who have struggled with it, or lost the battle. My visual poem shows more or less a surreal vision of the world of an addicted person. The text afterwards is inspirational for those, who feel lost. This poem is a result of the pain I went trough of not being able to help people I care about with addiction. I hope there are others ready for a change. Please share it with people suffering from addiction. We have to work on creating a world, where children are taken so good care of, that the distruction and isolation have no chance to grow.

May we all be strong, loving and loved.
Bella

Amazing Artworks, and great project. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you <3

Sorry to hear about your father and aunt ,,
I watched your video ...,but can you explain more about it ,

Thank you. I just put a bit more information at the end of my post. If you see the hand holding the glass continues as a painted hand on the body. The hand taking the glass is the only hand which has control, the one pulling the strings, holding a key in the darkness in the middle of the painted body. It is a condition on the edge between life and death, neglecting love, family, everything. I believe the core of the problem comes from the early childhood. I read also a lot about epigenetic and prenatal stress, the problems of the first years of the child, the amount of touch, love and care a child gets are so important for the rest of his/her life. If there is a lack ot it certain hormons cannot be developed. This time is also the important if the person will have heavy depression tendencies or not. I hope this and the updated information are more clear;))

Many thanks for the information ,,,
Bella ! I was scrolling down to your page and find you an awesom artist , i really love the way you work , and that project in china , your body paintings were so cool , i followed you before but didnt watch all your works ,
Colourful and positive , im glad to meet you here in steemit ... :)
Wish you more success ...

That is so awesome and unique! I barely have the patience to brush my teeth, let alone be painted.

Well, yes it is a lot of work, long hours, late nights, patience, back pain, but the result is something special, so it is worth it:)

A wonderful cause, I hope this project goes far

Thank you, well, that is not the goal. If it touches just one or two people it is absolutely fine. I have never been interested in going viral with my art, or anything like that. As long someone is thinking about it, reflecting on it, my goal is done;)

Wow! This is an amazing little video! Thank you for creating this and sharing it here!

This is incredible art. And for a superb cause. It is wonderful to speak up about addiction. So many misconceptions are out there about it.

very nice art!

Commercials are showing alcohol as source of fun. Alcohol is connected there with positive feelings. Young people often don't understand this is one way street...

Thanks for your social art project.

Thank you, I am glad you like it.

Your story pulls at my heart strings. What a powerful message you are sending. Your art is just mind-blowing. Its so next level, I don't even have words for it. Thanks for sharing.

I've found that the best creativity comes from a place of the darkest of darks, or the highest of highs. As my good friend, John, likes to say, we open a vein and bleed out creativity. These are amazing pieces and I truly wish you the best of luck with your anti-addiction art project.

CRAZY FANTASTIC ARTWORK!!! COMPLIMENT

Sorry for recent loss Bella. You have created something beautiful out of it though.

Sorry to hear about your aunt. Your art installation is beautiful. I love your use of colors.

For the photos where things are rippling, like the candles - was that digital manipulation, or part of the piece itself through some sort of lens or refractive glass?

This is sooooo sooo beauriful and melencholy. Is this meant to be the before? I struggle with addiction n lost my father to drug n alcohol addiction. Thanks for trying to bring in love n light

Amazing.....Please do more!
