Sometimes human beings are a bit dry in the sense that we do not express to people that we want nothing more of affection neither with facts nor words. Human beings, no matter how old we are, we need a person who sometimes tells us I love you, or simply a nice word, that simple word "I love you" can make us improve a day which we had terrible.
I think one of the most pleasant ones I love are those of our Fathers, despite certain circumstances their affection is unequaled. Sometimes we feel so lonely that we only recure is to lock ourselves in a different world and a little away from others, maybe it's good but maybe not!
If we have a person next to us (couple, boyfriend, husband), they make us feel a little more loved but sometimes they do not, sometimes they just forget that we need that little bit or that little point of attention ...
