In a sense, you have to do something to earn the things you want, but it takes time which is where the saying would best apply. It has taken time for me but the good is coming in a lot more now and I have worked hard at it in life! :D

just seems like an excuse to continue putting in minimal effort and expect rewards. and being a good person doesnt mean you cant get fkd over by the world. its a cruel place and you need to be brutal to survive sometimes.
