Eye Opening

in life •  7 years ago

Last night we get a call from our church..... And it is someone asking if we can fill in for the 1 and 2 class..... So I guess we would call them toddlers. My wife and I talked for a second, and thought it would be great, since we are 30 days away from our due date. Maybe get a little taste, of what parent hood is all about. giphy.gif

It was a big mistake. As soon as the kids entered the room, they instantly started crying and saying mommmy mommmy, and yes I know mommy is spelled with 2 m's but that is how it sounded. The crying went on for 20 minutes at a time, but as soon as the snakes came out, it was silent. I looked at my wife and said what did we get ourselves into, and what is the return policy on this kid. But all joking aside I am looking forward to our kid's arrival, but the terror in the kids eyes of them thinking they would never seeing there parents again really was hard to watch today. Good thing they have short memories at this age.

now you have to taste this nice sleep. Do not mind those who say that. When you cry at night you get up and look at her. He is temporarily silent. For that moment I am not sleeping all my life. Because it's worth it. @bigram13

all babies born he must cry because he is afraid in the world a lot of sin.

how much to fart on your baby?

Congratulations on the new one coming! May your kid be blessed all his days! :D

congratulations. Having a child is a wonderful thing. I hope it is a healthy birth and always healthy and happy throughout life. You better get yourself ready for sleepless nights. the best gift you can get in your life. Congratulations again. @bigram13

😃 hilarious for a joke but pardon me. Thats what nannies face when parents leave all of the burden to them. Taking care of a baby is the least thing i can do because you can barely measure your effectiveness and those paying you sees that as a criteria to measure your work. Familiarity is far from babies except their mum are around or you got a strategy like of taking the mum picture and placing it on your face then that's how the baby can get familiar with you. That was how a Chinese man that lost her wife through death, and the baby so love the mum,so the only way he can keep the baby to eat and sleep was masking his face with his wife photo...thanks for sharing your 30days job option with us..we appreciate it and hope you share what goes on after this ..

Never said it was easy, sometimes it is way harder than going to a job. Totally agree.

Oh, my goodness. That's too funny. You just turn to each other and get that "what have we done" look on your faces.

Hopefully you've already been working on getting the house and things ready for the baby, so at least you won't have to worry about that aspect of the new baby.

My wife and I don't have any kids yet, but our friends that have them say it's one of the best things they could have imagined, even though they don't sleep.

Ya same here. I need to throw together the room this weekend. I have had to work the last three, and have been exhausted.

That’s great that you volunteered like that... probably the toughest age to watch at church as the kids still are trying to figure it all out but know enough to have the separation issues. Once they are 2-3 they know the routine and get excited to play and learn, knowing their parents will be back in no time. Getting excited for you as well... getting closer!

Isn't it around 2 or 3 that they learn the word "NO!" and won't say anything else? It's almost as fun as the separation anxiety.

geeze don't tell me any more, or I might let it stay in the wife forever

You just need to learn to phrase the questions properly.

ei: instead of "Stop throwing your peas around" "NO!"
use "Are you finished eating?" "NO!" "Fine, then mind your manners or no cookie when dinner is done."

Being a parent is all about learning strategy. Start playing online games now!

I felt bad when they looked, and where like they left me they really left me.

really funny likee it and upvoted..
keep it up @bigram13

Good to know you are having a baby... I am not a father and I am not married but I still remember the feeling when my mother left me on my classroom on my first day of school. I was so sad and lonely.

You will soon be a dad, congratulations. They are use to their parents and not seeing anyone around makes them scared. Even in the house when they are awake and don't see mommmy as you said they called it lol or daddy they will start to cry. That is the only way they can express themselves.

Don’t worry, everything is going to be fine!! Wish health to your upcoming baby!

This video should come in handy for you, this doctor says it works every time.

I am so glad that you will be your baby. This is a gift.you will be a wonderful parent. you may be a little longed for sleep.images (4).jpegindir (1).jpeg

It's cute trying out parenting before the arrival of your kid. They are fun and time consuming but all the same worth it

Ya I should of done it 8 months ago. HAHA

Back when I was sitting on other people's kids the thing I used to hate the most was when the parent who was leaving would spend 5 minutes explaining to the toddler that they were going to leave him alone with a stranger and working the kid to a frenzy instead of just saying it and leaving. It took forever for the poor kid to settle down when they did that and just a few minutes when they made it a casual fact. I always felt sorry for the half-crazed kid.

In the end most of them are pretty amazing, clever, and a lot fun one you've worked past the screaming thing.

Food seemed to be the way to get them to stop crying.

I can see that working well...

I assume you weren't handing out spinach and brussels sprouts?

sleepless nights are a coming ..

booo

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS! I'm beyond happy for the both of you! Enjoy your sleep while you can my Friends! All the best! Warm Wishes! Positive Energy! Great Karma! Your Friend @extraterrestrial :) I can't wait for the pics of the baby! :)

Don't worry, your baby will be just as cool as you!
BUT
Other babies aren't so that's why I'm leading the 15+ youth in our church :)

Congratulations. I hope it will be a very good person in the future.I'm sending her a big kiss! 😘🙋

I'm sure having a kid will not be easy, but I'm sure it will be incredibly rewarding too! :) So you shouldn't worry. Just enjoy your sleep while you can cause after the kid is born, that would be difficult for a year or two ;)

Congratulations on the baby! Kids are a handful, they teach us as much as we teach them.

Too much crying may be hungry🙂 @bigram13
