When we are children we are excited about the presents and the fact of having them, but with the time we see how the values are changing, I see on my son's example, when he receives presents I look at his reaction and you know he never disappointed, even if he really did not like the presents but he really showed his appreciation and this was purely coming from his heart.
The same with many of us, it is not the fact to get a gift but to get attention and appreciate the appreciation of those people who values you.
By the way, beautiful tulips, in this stage they are still not open, the best stage that I love, I always hope that it takes longer to stay like just picked up :)

Yes, the gift is not important, but the feeling behind it is important because gift is perishable but the feeling is not and if you can develop positive feelings for you in others then that's greatest thing than anything and we should not lose the emotional connection, because emotional connection is more important than materialistic connection.
And good to see that you are writing to teach newbies how to behave in comments to get true engagement and i personally can connect with this post because, when i joined Steemit i was unaware from in and out concept of Steemit and i was making one line comment and sometimes leaved post link too, but one day i got an reply as "These few words are not giving any value to my post, and to give value write something in depth", literally speaking these words really pinched me in an good way and from that day i started to post organic comments and in depth, and in 218 days almost I've posted around 12300 post combined of blog post, Comments and Replies and all are organic and now i am proud of myself because the response which i am getting now, that's really satisfying.
