The biggest scientific growth of humankind was in just the span of 100ish years. We literally went from pioneering midsoles of shoes to sending a rover to Mars. It is incredible how much was achieved within such a short amount of time. It is almost the same with every fraction of science. We went from serving cocaine in soft drinks to having invented narcan. We went from installing asbestos in our own house insulations to researching against asbestosis. It is as if there is no end to what can be done and achieved.
What feels like impossible right now will eventually become simply silly and obvious in the future. What we are stuck with today will be like sliding on butter tomorrow. The craziest thing is anyone who has been secluded from the modern world for just 50 years will not believe that you can shout your wish out loud in a room and the thing will appear on your doorstep within a few hours as long as you say "Alexa" instead of "Genie". It is rather remarkable and very awesome to look at the modern world from a pedestal.
There are however things that bother me a lot. It may be something as simple as having automatic shoelaces but since it is not the right time I still have a tough time thinking about it. For example, colors. We cannot imagine a new color. Go ahead and imagine a new color. You simply cannot. There are plenty of animals and insects that can see different spectrums and so on, but we cannot. As hard as we imagine we will always be stuck within the spectrum that our brains can process. I wonder if in the future someone will read this post and have a good laugh. They might even call me an idiot for not being able to imagine a color.
