...and by literary I mean wordy!

So, so, so many words. But are all these words of consequence? The short answer; yes.

A Quick Synopsis...

Yes, I know I said I wouldn't do these, but I feel I owe it to you, especially getting in at #5. It's not as though you can track back to get the lowdown from previous posts. Anyway, I digress:

This is essentially The Watchemen Pt. 2. It picks up, curiosly with a Rorsarch narrative, with him wanting to finish off the job his 'other' self started all those years ago; the killing of Adrian Veidt / Ozymandias. Needless to say, he fails. They forge an unlikely and unstable alliance in order to bring their world back from the brink of destruction - the same destruction Adrian tried to circumnavigate in the prior tale. Turns out that all the good he did turned to sh!t and there's only one man who can help them save their world. But guess what? He's nowhere to be found. That's because he's not on/in their world anymore. A curious series of events leads Adrian to pilot his way here, to "our" dimension where the DC characters inhabit...

...I've spent more time telling you about what happened than I'll spend telling you about what's happening 😜

This is so well written and so all pervasive, you'd think it was written by #GrantMorrison 🤔 There are clues to the answers of your (inevitabile) questions, scattered all throughout the book.

This scene precludes a wonderful return to form from a character presumed dead, especially if your only point of reference is the film (which, as I'm sure you know, is awesome.

Ozymandias gets to show Batman just how big his brain is, figuratively and literally. It was interesting watching these two behemoths of intellectual monologues, square off, and interesting to see the outcome. I've yet to mention what part The Joker plays...

In Conclusion...

This book makes for wonderfully mature and fresh reading from #DCComics, which strangely enough is not a contradiction in terms, (particularly as I haven't yet read Metal #MustRead

Anyhoo, whilst this issue had no onomatopoeia to set your pulses pounding. It had a plethora of poignant pugilistic points to peep 👀 👈🏾 .

Sort Order:

No onomatopoeia.. but a dash of alliteration from an amiable armchair associate..

I see what you did there!

I tried to start reading at #1, but I got distracted. It probably didn't help that I was sitting on the toilet.. and with the quantity of fibre I eat.. well let's just say I wasn't on the John for long.

I love this format and the taste you're giving us.

If I could be so bold as to suggest one little thing.. maybe let us know if there are spoilers in the title or very close to the top.

I think I'll have to give Doomsday Clock another proper try at some point!

Cheers,
Nick.
