Hello everyone!
I hope you have all enjoyed my last post and are excited for this one which i can assure you is more interesting!
In this short post i am going to talk about spiders, not spiderman! :)
Spiders, such as scorpions, pseudo scorpions and mites belong to the class of Arachnids. There are approximately 40,000 species of spiders in the world, including nearly 700 in Quebec. Experts believe that several other species remain to be discovered.

Life cycle
The life cycle of spiders varies by species. These arthropods do not undergo metamorphosis. Young, also called juveniles, look like adults in smaller ones. Like insects, spiders grow by changing "skin" when moulting. The exoskeleton tears on the dorsal part and the spider comes out with the help of his paws. The number of moults is different depending on the species.
Ecological roles
Spiders are voracious predators and consume large quantities of insects. By feeding, they regulate populations and provide a form of biological control in many natural and agricultural environments. They play, in addition, an important role in the control of pests.
Habitat
Spiders are present everywhere in nature. Many species, however, live indoors or on buildings. Spiders that live near humans using their gardens as habitats or nesting grounds are referred to as synanthropic.
