What Makes Some Info Better Than Other Info?
With today's market of information being so saturated with countless blogs, unlimited crappy websites, and day trader gurus, who should you listen to?
In my opinion, it's never been harder to filter through the noise of today's loud mouth media and social media warriors. How many people do you think actually know the facts? My guess is not many.
So let's look at a few things that you can consider when trying to figure out who to listen to when it comes to your limited head space and free listening time.
Top 8 Thing To Look For When Considering Information Sources
- Timely - Are you being informed of major announcements in a timely manner?
- Consistency - Are you being informed on a regular basis?
- Quality - Did they put in extra time provide additional resources?
- Tone - Was the tone positive and forward moving, or dodgy and vague?
- Words - Were their words carefully chosen and well crafted?
- Channels - What channels of communication do they offer? Is it diverse? Is there a demand?
- Engagement - How engaged of a following does this person have? Do they respond to their follower?
- Who - Who is doing the communication? Do they have actual experience or are they a front person?
This was a quick list for you to use when evaluating who you should listen to. You should never expect perfection when choosing information sources. The goal is honesty and vision, not perfection.
The closer your information source is to performing well in the above mentioned categories, the more likely they are a credible source and someone you can continue to invest your time in to.
What other things would you add to the list? What do you look for when vetting information sources?
