Vancouver Farmers Market

Went to scope out a little farmers market this morning in Vancouver. Lots of fresh herbs and vegetables to be had as well as a few baking stalls and a couple of food trucks. This market was at a park called trout lake. I have no idea if this is considered a good market in Vancouver but I'll be honest I was a bit disappointed.

Most of the prices seemed ridiculous. Back home when I go to the market I usually grab lunch and get a good sized meal for around $10, today we got a snack for $10 and I'd say things were about twice as much as what I'm used to. Next the market was small and crowded. Not really how I want to experience a market. Probably great for the vendors but I spent a lot of time dodging or bumping into random strangers, not really my scene. Another thing I found odd was there was no garbage or recycling in the market. There were lots around the park but in the market itself I couldn't find any. Not a good mix when people are buying food to eat while walking around, saw some litter on the ground which is a real shame because the park was quite beautiful. On top of that very few places were selling drinks and the two options I found were coffee and a tiny glass of lemonade. I just wanted a water!

Well enough of me complaining. I don't think Vancouver would be a great place for me to live and I'm glad that I live where I do because I love it there. Enjoying my vacation but today did make me a little bit homesick.
