Due to the Merryments of last night, even the Captain rose somewhat late. The engine of our light boat was broken, but is now repaired and functions through the cooperation of Captain and Steward.
The rest of the day was spent reading up on the technical equipment waiting to be installed on Arwen.

In the evening we set a Crabnet, in hope of dinner the next day. All crew retired early.

Pluto insists he has found some new spots in the neighbourhood forest, but cannot name them. We have accordingly decided to report: No progress!

Pluto, the Deck Hand, woke the Captain early, to remind him that we had a net out. No other crewmembers where available, so Captain and Deck Hand took it upon themselves to pull the net, borrowing the Hammer barge.

The net had caught a lot of Jellyfish of the poisonous kind. The local species gives an unpleasant burn, but are not lethal. Pulling the net without burns was a challenge, but the work proved fruitful when several Crabs of good proportions had also been caught, along with some wee flatfish that we let go.

Well ashore, the difficult task of separating Crab from net awaited. We placed the Crabs under seaweed and saltwater and set th em aside until evening, when our good friend Tor Pedersen visited to taste the catch. The fresh seafood and a long day led to an early night.

Pluto was disappointed not to have been let ashore at any new places, and regrets to report: No progress!

Veierland was awaiting the big Summer Invasion, when the Islands population increases fiftyfold. Becaus of this we had to move Arwen from her borrowed space at Veierland and back to Havnebakke.

As we where planning to sail for Larvik the next day, preparing Arwen and going over her new rig became the task of the day. We said our farewells with mr. Hammer and all crew retired aboard Arwen for the night.

Captain and Steward started the morning with a seabath. A few hours after midday, Arwen set a course for Larvik. The winds where infavourable in the beginning and we had to use the engine for the first few hours. As we reached open waters we eagerly hoisted sails, to see how she behaved under her new rig. We spotted a few problems that are easily remedied. The Captain was near to tears seeing Arwen under new sails.

The sea was a bit rough for our Deck Hand, and he stayed belowdecks. The Captain and he worked on the routines for changing course, and the Captain thinks we can still make a sailor of him.

Sailing in to Larvik in the early night, the winds had waned, and Arwen calmly let her sails go before docking at the old Ferryharbour in Larvik.

The Steward grew up here, and has many friends and family. Our social schedule was therefore filled for the evening, and it was spent on visits and greetings. From Kathrine we where able to borrow a guitar for the Journey, which especially pleased the Captain, as he has missed a musical instrument aboard.

The Captain and the Deck Hand explored Larvik`s downtown areas in the morning. We had a light breakfast and proceeded to Veldre for a visit to our Stewards mother. On the way, we made a visit to a local lake for a swim in sweetwater. This was the childhood playground of our Steward, and he had many a tale from way back when, to the entertainment of Captain and Deck Hand.

We had dinner with the Stewards Mother, his Sister, her Spouse and their two wee boys. Our Deck Hand`s tablemanners where beyond reproach, and this somewhat surprised the Captain. The Steward had some laundry, and we spent a few hours with his Mother over Coffee before returning to the Boat. As Mothers are alike wherever you may go, she sendt us on our way with a box of wraps for our evening meal, and equipped us with more warm clothing.

The evening and early night was spent with friends of our Steward.

Our Deck Hand is pleased to report: Ullfern: Check!
