DO NOT COMPARE ...

in life •  7 years ago
Times change, life changes, adolescents change ... that is, do not think about comparing their teenage times with current times, therefore you can not use the measures taken by your parents to try to guide you and apply them exactly to your dragons ...

Before they took away the right to your phone or computer, or they did not lend you the car ... they just did not give you their allowance and you could be disabled for fun or communication ...
Currently the telephone is a natural extension of young people, it is impossible to take them off, they can also communicate with telephones. Computers, tables, even with game consoles, have a virtual life that in many cases exceeds the real one.

Also, do not compare one teenager with another, do not compare your dragon with the neighbor's dragon ... the one who is studying medicine and everyone says it's perfect ...
No young person is equal to another, in fact no one person is the same as another, and thank God for that, if we were all the same, life would be very boring.

My eldest son escapes from classes at the high school, went out with other "Friends" to sit on the sports field and to walk around the sector. His mother asked for a vacation and went with him every day to class for a month and stayed in the hall all day until he left and they both returned to the house. In high school all the students knew that a mom spent all day in the hall and made fun of my son, my wife called other mothers and formed a group of mothers who spent all day in high school, absenteeism and escapades Class sizes were drastically reduced because others began to fear that their mothers would join the group.

My other son also ran away from classes, I myself started to go every afternoon to wait for him after school and every day I asked if he had attended. In that year he stopped going out of school, but the next year, he escaped again, and if I ask him every day, he stops doing it but as soon as I do not go, he escapes, He is 15 years old, I'm still fighting that battle.

My oldest son enrolled in dance, swimming, karate, ballet, fencing ... in all these activities he excelled, advanced, competed in many of them and then ... he left them, that way from one day to the next.

All required an investment in uniforms, protectors, equipment, practices, attending competitions, presentations, etc.
And every time I started an I thought:

"He will be a champion in this discipline, he can be a professional ... finally ..."

He changed his vocation with amazing ease, and if at some point I had pressed him to continue with something he no longer wanted, or denied the possibility of venturing into something new because of his changing way of being, then he would not have allowed him to come what he liked and liked.

My son is currently a Professional International Food Chef.

But when he signed up to be a Chef, I did not know if he would finish or I would leave him halfway, but I supported him and gave him all the support.

My daughter, the youngest among the females, enrolled to study Administration, I paid everything that corresponded, registration, monthly payments, notebooks ... everything. A year ago he left ... he did not like it, then he enrolled in photography, that he liked ... also, registration, monthly payments, camera, filters ... everything. It lasted only 6 months
... SHe did not want to study more.

Her older sister enrolled in Administration, graduated in record time, with the best grades. Today is professional and with a promising career.

None is equal to another, we can only give them the tools to improve, the rest will depend on them.
