Understanding your calling... Steven's Steemit community inquiry

in life •  7 years ago

Good evening, Steem Community I've got a small, and some what interesting but not really blog with a few questions directed at quite a few of you that you will get rich from but not really

Well now that title is with out a doubt misleading, and it will make complete sense after you take a second to review the things I've decided to bring up. Let me start this a bit differently, Hello everyone my name is Steven if you don't know me, well now ya do. I'm an Information technology major, who owns a small IT start up here in the great state of Missouri. If you've ever taken a few seconds to read a post of mine theres a good chance I was rather vocal about one of the following, parenting, kids ( probably this one), poverty, an emotional video or two, well more like 3, people, the poor, some dumb ass shit that makes no sense and looks like I haven't learned proper word structure, and/or something to the effect of speaking up and standing your ground and being yourself. This time I'm not doing that, and no videos either about respecting someone or something.. this is as I said, a bit unique. Today I'm going to ask you all if you've ever felt as though you've had a calling, or if you feel as though your here (alive) to do something such as a special task or job, if your some close minded ignorant individual that enjoys viewing people and society in a single way and your not open to change I'm going to forewarn you this isn't for you, back to the task at hand. The other day I created a post regarding prostitutes and how I have a specific view on them and the up votes and comments I got were great I was actually surprised at the fact so many people had respect for the view and opinions I had, infact one of my favorite content creators on here @journeyoflife even gave me a great reply, which means a lot especially coming from a woman because typically (no offense to any ladies Im not singling you out with the following remark) women are quick to say things regarding them such as " eww nasty hoe, thats so gross I can't believe her, and/or those people should die" but again after that post not only did women, but the men on here also gave me credit and said they to felt that respect towards women or men that choose that line of work wasn't wrong at all. Now I'm speaking about this post because it actually got me thinking, with so many people replying in such a positive manner to my views and the way I see things in this world, maybe just maybe I should begin attempting to actually make some form of change here locally at home and go from there so many times I like lots of you, want to begin positive change but I don't because I don't know how, and/or because I lack the Will to do it. So you all, sparked something in me, you all as a community actually convinced me that maybe I should take the tragedies and experiences that I've had, and the things that have given me the view I have and use the pain as a tool or as a weapon more the less. Public figures and civil rights activist through out time have been created not because they went to college or university and decided to major in a subject called " Your Life calling" but because the neighborhoods and lives they've came from and lived have molded them into the person or persons they have become. Heres a question; Isn't that right? Martin Luther King Jr was someone who saw things through out life, during his early years and he wanted to change that in which he saw as not being right or fair towards people of color. Or another example would be Anna Eleanor Roosevelt she stood for Women's rights among a very long list of other things which actually got her called First Lady Of The World, anyhow my point is these people weren't born with a tag on their head that stated grow up and change the world , they were sparked by something and by what I can find regarding Anna, she just didn't like the mistreatment of people, she didn't like the fact that women couldn't vote among other things and one day shrugged her shoulders and handled her business she basically set a goal and didn't stop until she nailed it, and of course to get a title such as First lady of The World she obviously Blew that goal out of the water and up in to space. As I've begun to find out how these people and about 81 others made the choice to change I realized these people had something ignite them, they saw something and it made them the person they had become....

So let me start by saying I'm not angry at the system, I'm not angry with people, I'm Fucking livid at the things we as people should have been livid about such as racist, prejudice, neglect towards people (kids primarily), abuse, hunger, hatred itself, and a whole another list of things more so towards how judgement has been placed on men, and women when it comes to their parenting and with the views that the American/ Global court system, Men because they are some ones father, fighting for custody are viewed as not the best option because they are men and that children require a mother more? I love women just as much as the next man or woman but what I don't love is the prejudice used against me and several others. I do carry a unique view on life and the things that come with it but by know means have I ever placed judgement on anyone who thinks different than me, ad if you know me you then know I care about and love my Children So Much that I've went to the extent of getting hit by an i.e.d in Afghanistan on the eastern border and I got up disfigured, and bleeding non stop and for three days I had to conduct Search, and evade tactics in order to not get killed, each step was thought like this, my right foot would step in to the sand and I thought Rachel, then my left foot would hit and I'd think Brooke, and so on.

So Steemians, and people of Steemit that have created or had some form of an impact on the actions that have caused me to take this moment, and past experiences and use them to make myself in to a Leader some one who is going to take a stand against all the shit thats fucked up as I've said in past I won't be able to change the entire world, but I will be the one that sparks the mind of the individual that changes everything. I'm going to become one of those thats viewed as a Right Activist, not only for parents, fathers, but for women, and kids as well. Enough bitching about change I want to cause it I'll actually be trying to utilize Steem it as my foundation , and bringing people here to assist me sort of like a base of operation this community is still so young that its not really gotten enough ground to be used for anything to mainstream yet, so creating and using a not for profit here should be really easy. I'll even go as far as creating a few tags and I've saw a few tags or groups that I may propose creating an affiliation with, due to the fact that people here can be so supporting when I kick this into motion anyone and everyone that supports my view and reviews the post that I'll be creating regarding this ideal and the mission statement behind it I'll need help as far as suggestions, word spreading, opinions and other shit that pertains to this newly found calling of mine.

So i said I had some questions, and that I would be requesting input from others, so here we go. I need to know the following from You All that Have read this post and those of you that believe I'm making the right choice in attempting to take in this Calling of mine and the fact that I'm going to stand up and become a leader against the things I've mentioned.
Questions for fellow steemians;
#1. How does this idea sound?
#2. Obtainable?
#3. What is your view on people feeling that they have a calling?
#4. In your opinion, are Civil Rights Activist right? Wrong? Pointless?
#5. Advice from you and your life experiences?
Everyone has been through something and has experiences I don't, so your input could be extremely helpful and depending on what is said it could change the route I take in order to do this. Thank you all for taking time to reply to this, for all of you that have been positive towards me during the times I've openly expressed my views on things I want you to know I have nothing but Love for you and I'm always wishing you the best.

I don't know, ...if you can help people, then why not do it?

The Civil Rights movement did some great things....I don't know why we are forgetting all of that and going pig butt stupid right now!

Maybe through some of your life experience you can help to mend bridges and talk sense to fools before that really start to hurt each other. I don't want Civil War 2!

We should take stand what is right nothing will change if we don't take stand even in adverse situation.

You already know how WE feel about children, and parents being treated equally. Always stand for what you believe in, even if no one stands with you.

Great post. I'll be featuring it in today's Fatherhood Friday.

good writing, If I could join
I am very happy , thank you @carterx7

Im posting regarding this and more.you can join me by supporting it. That doesnt mean upvotes or money that means morally, taking a stand for whats right

Honestly I'm tired of the way that people are taking things on this platform , valuable and good content has little to no value anymore . Dan the creator of Steemit created this platform for peace and spreading philosophy and I feel like people are taking it a whole different level .

Instead of helping out one another , it's like they seem to put attacks on each other , whatever happen to humanity and spreading peace ?

Our experiences and past make us a better person , we should use it to guide one another in good and bad times

Honestly everyone's opinion on our work is always going to put us down like we are wrong , I bet you when it happens to them (not that I'm wishing it) they would know how it feels

I still believe there's still a lot of good people rather than bad. Maybe some of them are just practicing their freedom of speech??? :)

Awesome Idea ! I think civil rights is the best option and as activist you know and believe that everything is possible for which you struggle.

I respect your noble vision towards this world full of terrorists, wars, racism, engoism ... your call for a life without these insults I see it possible and impossible at the same time because it depends on our system of judge who Between imperialism and socialism.

Maybe civil movements can push us to change the vision towards humanity by using social networks as steemit that is your idea.
For our country our young people used the facebook to take off a dictators, this is the world where the information passes too quickly then one begins the call to a healthy life without bad behaviours.

you always write such great articles
i find your idea great and hope you get support vs those terrible thing
i believe if you were to be in a high position you would make difference

IMHO, we are born pure of heart, tainted, and then spend the rest of our lives, either trying to discover what we should be, or reinforcing what we have become.
Yes, there are more good people than bad, but there are more blades of grass than there are trees.
We have been educated to give more importance to some things/people, and less to others.
With all due respect to Civil Right Activists, it's groups of REFEREES, who would be unnecessary if the roots of division were tackled.
Obtainable? YES, but a hell of a lot of re-educating is required, not only for those who understand the problems at hand, but for those who don't see anything wrong.
We have trusted our educators, and the ones before them. Whether they be teachers, parents, history books...
I'm not saying I have a solution, but a start would be STOP TEACHING HISTORY, FULL STOP. It will always be something to fight over. It is decisive and has a purpose, and has done pretty well for itself, but has done nothing but harm.
Yesterday is gone. It is quite pointless bringing it up time and time again and forcing that upon our children.
So, you see what I mean by a hell of a lot of re-educating?
Parents would need to drop most of their stories, books would need to have chapters torn out, TV/Radio stations would have to reprogramme everything....
The CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVISTS with a UNIFIED CODE would instead, police the media and all publications before release...
How does that not start sounding WRONG?
How does that not start sounding EXTREME?

Children, Tabula Rasa, teach them what is right, and what is necessary, without teaching negativity....

Obtainable? YES. But this sounds like the thought police, this why views on SJW's swing very quickly from far left, to far right, when in actual fact, they aren't just two ends of a spectrum, but the beginning and end of a CIRCLE...

In this information day and age, you could almost stop teaching history....and MAYBE WE SHOULD...... If people want to know about something they can look it up(but little guarantee that the 'facts' they find will be truth or propaganda either).

How does that then fit with "those who forget history are doomed to repeat it"?

The plan would not just be to rewrite history, but to teach new values. It has been touched upon in movies and so on. Todays history would need to be "forgotten"....
The saying is that "those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it." Pointing to the fact that nothing was changed when mistakes did happen.
We are (would be) in a position to change that, knowing what we know now. Knowing what we know not to be true etc.
Again, like in the movies, the power would be in the hands of those who know the truth etc...
Not impossible, but damn near so.....
A whole generation would need "stop talking" for this to work....
Enter the oxymoron, we would, yet again have to "fight for peace..." go figure....

Wow...nice post wuth great article by my dear friend @carterx7
