First of all it is sin. A big one. I said it is because it’s murder. That tiny human inside the womb isn’t just a tissue or muscle that is part of a woman’s body. It is another human being preparing to go out to the world and live a life. There are ideas about abortion that are plainly immoral and evil. For example, this thought of aborting the baby due to disabilities of any sort that are discovered through testing and to prevent the baby from suffering from it, be it physical, emotional and social ( being bullied or being shamed upon) pregnancy has to be terminated. Another one is that if a woman is raped and become pregnant, she choose to abort the baby due to the sudden feelings of anxiety, shame and uncertainty. The woman thinks she is not ready for that situation. I understand how the woman feels and it’s reasonable to feel that way. What I don’t get is to end the life inside her womb. It’s not the baby’s fault evidently nor the woman’s fault either. The pregnancy came to be because of a man’s evil choice which is raping the woman. I believe he should go to jail for that and suffer the consequences of his actions. However, the baby inside the woman’s body should live. That’s another human being living there and has the full rights endowed by our Creator. Therefore, based on what I believe and moral standards, abortion is murder. It is not the solution either to unwanted pregnancies nor an answer to freedom from guilt. It is actually another act that will just lead to more guilt and shame.
