Hi, I am Jane Fields aka @CBDJane
At 12 years of age I was diagnosed with an un-curable disease called Crohns. Being 12, i did not understand what Crohns was, why i was "lucky" enough to get a disease with no known cause and no cure, why my body was self destructing on the inside, or what my life ahead would be like. I didn't understand the future of my health, the ramifications of the medicines i would be given, or the impact Crohns would have on my mental, emotional, and physically well-being. I did not understand how my day to day life would change, forever. I just knew i was constantly in pain, an intense pain of which no child should have to experience and i was willing to search until i found a way to relieve the pain, and ideally cure my disease.
The pain from Crohns disease is triggered when food or liquid passes through an infected, damaged and inflamed area of the gastrointestinal tract. The pain is virtually indescribable and those with Crohns know it intimately and how destructive it is to your well-being. Typically, and only over time do we learn how to deal with it, and we deal with the pain in our own way. We will try anything to reduce and eliminate the pain.. Meditation, Breathing Techniques, Yoga, Extreme Fitness activities, and even legal and illegal drugs, all in an effort to find comfort and relief. It's nearly impossible to determine when Crohns will attack, and the severity when it happens. Oh the joys..
Only over time did I learn to manage my own symptoms and my pain. And how to communicate how i was feeling along with the severity of the pain when asked by family, friends or physicians. I categorized and typically communicated Crohns pain in the following manner: Frequency, Duration and Intensity. Frequency over a day / week; Duration when it happens and for how long; and Intensity... using the Doctor 1-10 scale, which often it was a 11 or 12.
In my early twenties I started to experiment with Marijuana.. aka, pot, weed, cannabis. Smoking pot during my 20's was in an effort to socially fit in, but more importantly i was seeking a way to reduce and ideally eliminate the pain i had experienced daily over the previous 10 years. Marijuana brought me relief, often in short durations, 1-3 hours at a time, but for a few hours i was free from the pain. Unknowingly at that time, my cannabis and marijuana experimentation started my path of my own research, education, self-medication and my life long journey looking for alternative options to the "rat poison" which i was forced to “try” for over two decades. Marijuana provided a way to numb the pain; the physical, mental and emotional pain all which seemed to be triggered by and related to my Crohns.
In fear of addiction, as i watched numerous friends bounce in and out of rehabs, and not knowing any different at the time, i only used Marijuana occasionally. I knew when i used it, i felt like i was given my life back and it returned me to a pain free existence. BUT i would also have the feeling of being “high” due to the levels of THC typically found in the strains which were available at the time. What i knew; Marijuana brought me instant pain relief from my Crohns symptoms and slowly started to help me return to a feeling of normalcy, BUT there must be something more or a way to eliminate the high feeling. So my search into the world of cannabis, marijuana and THC / CBD strains continued.
Over the last 15 years, not only has technology advanced in the treatment of Crohns, (although there is still no cause or cure identified and a growing number of new pharmaceutical medicines introduced) but more importantly is the discovery and ability to isolate the CBD cannabinoid and the ability to bred, grow and extract high quality CBD strains, and CBD oils from the Cannabis plant. Along with the openness and willingness of doctors now ready to discuss (and support) the research, studies, and the proven medical cases where THC, CBD and CBD oils have proven effective in the treatment of a long list of diseases including Crohns, Cancer, Arthritis, PTSD, Depression and Diabetes. Treatment of conditions with CBD Oil is life changing for those affected with daily pain, ailments, chronic illness and terminally ill conditions.
Along side the medical advancement and CBD oil developments over the last 15 years, i have continued my journey and search of my own cure. I have tried over 300 different cannabis strains, over 50 different tinctures, edibles, patches, vape oils and CBD specific products. I believe I have found what works best for me and my current level of health and living pain free is proof.. I have the following strains to thank… Northern Lights, Charlottes Web CBD Oil, Pre-98 Bubba Kush Flower and Medicine Woman CBD Oil. I have a long list of other favorites, specifically Gorilla Glue, LA Confidential, Bubble Gum, Purple Urkle, TrainWreck, and SkyWalker OG but thats for another time and post.
The time is now for us to better understand the medical benefits of the Cannabis Stavia plant, CBD, THC cannabinoids and how they can help in the treatment of different medical and life threatening conditions. The goal of my contribution to @Steemit, my posts and my book(s) is to share my knowledge, medical studies, resources, current strain information, and offer a trusted source of clarity as you search and educate yourself on the benefits of Medical Marijuana, Cannabis, Cannabinoids, Hemp, THC, CBD, CBD Oils, as they relate to your medical condition. I wish you the best of luck with your journey to better health and a happy pain free life.
I will be contributing content on topics related to Cannabis, Medical Marijuana, THC, CBD and CBD Oils along with sharing personal stories, eBooks i’ve written and recipes in an effort to share my journey, my findings and help others learn more about the medical benefits of Cannabis and specifically CBD Oils.

Some friendly advice: If you would like to achieve success on Steemit you should drop the follow me, follow you or upvote me/upvote you thing. You need to state WHY you think it's a good post and if the person reading the comment likes what you have to say they might follow you. Also a large number of followers don't determine your success on Steemit if they don't actually vote for your stuff and engage in conversation. Some users are also offended by these kind of comments and may flag you, lowering your reputation.

Glad you don't have to feel that much pain anymore and I wish you luck in finding a permanent solution. Too bad I can't help you in the future, I am a failure as a biologist.

We need to take all funding from law enforcement and gove it to social workers who work directly with addicts to help them develop a world they enjoy being a part of.
