Working With Your Own Canvas. Your Life!...

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

We all talk about achieving our goals, we love these types of conversations not only because they allow us to dream, but because they keep us motivated to keep on moving forward when things get difficult and when it becomes too easy to give up.

In the quest to your own personal success story, you must always attempt to keep a clear mind of what you truly want and not fall for the trap of following others blindly. This might seem like I’m saying something negative but this is something I have observed many times in my life in the people I coached and mentored.

An analogy that I like to use is to think of your life as a painting, everything you do, every effort you make is a stroke of the brush and it will take thousands of strokes and many hours for the painting, the image to reveal itself and display its beautiful colors.

As it happens sometimes the painting we are working on does not belong to us but for some reason we are not aware of this. Sometimes someone in our life has chosen directly or indirectly where you should go, what you should do and we accepted it in the name of what we believe to be love.

This does not only happen in marriages, it can also be the case of a parent pushing a career path on a son or daughter, but it's more common and in my opinion, more painful when it happens in relationships and in marriages.

Not working on your own painting as I call it causes resentment. You might believe it does not, you might think that even though what you are doing is not your calling, your choice to do so somehow will give you the same feelings of accomplishment as if you were following your own dreams, but this is rarely the case.

In life we need allies, we need people who understand and respect our individuality, encourage it but also understand the importance of balance and compromise. I can’t think of a single scenario where someone has completely abandoned their dreams and has felt at the end of his life it was all worth it, but I can think of plenty examples of the exact opposite.

Just like anyone else I understand the value in company, the amazing feeling and peace having someone’s love and support brings to your life and I’m not attempting to say anything against that. This is just an invitation for reflection, for each one of us to think if the sacrifices we are making today are part of what we want for our life, or if we are walking in the name of someone else while we abandon us.

Its simple, its not tragic, it just is… We must always make sure we don’t stop working on our own painting, that we don’t abandon our canvas, because in the end of the day when it's all said and done, that’s the only one we get to keep.

Excuse me for advertising. It is necessary to earn. I'll try to stop soon. :)

Everyone will ignore you or flag you if you keep advertising. No one likes it, so why do it? You will also find it difficult to gain a better reputation score, so again, why do it?

very nice analogy right there, i can relate to that point, as painting requires hard work and a dedicated time and effort to make that piece of art, and only painters can relate to the hard work of the painting they paint, they same in reality that only few people appreciate the value of passion from the work they're doing. :)

Amazing words ..
Well done, yes you can not succeed without a goal
Great post from you
Thanks for sharing

I found this content a very powerful that could apply to everyone's life career. I believe of what you have wrote. What I have clearly learned, is that we should always take the the pen when we paint, meaning to say we should have a decisions in life, by not depending to anyone. If you think that's what the best for you then go. Why we should not depend on someone? For me I should not depend to someone, because depending to someone is waiting for something to happen. That is just like sitting on the ground and waiting for the fruit to fall. As a student working scholar, I am very dedicated to promote steemit to everyone mos especially to working scholar, because they are in need. There is a big opportunity to steemit to help them, That's why I can't just sit down and wait and depend someone and also if you depends on someone maybe he/she could washed your canvas just because he/she don't know what your canvas all about. The only person who would know what his canvas all about is his/her self only! I would be very happy if you support me in making my canvas come true. :) @chbartist

This is the picture of me and my fellow working scholars.

@brapollo29. You are welcome

I follow your blog always,Awsome your own canvas.Good post you follow my blog @chbatrist

Wow! The painting tells pretty much everything about the artist. I guess the word to describe about it is "Brilliant" .

Beautifully and well put!

I don't know what to write, or how to comment on this writeup, it is waoooo because it melts my heart with its facts and other analogies whish are true.
I specially like this analogy of your: " An analogy that I like to use is to think of your life as a painting, everything you do, every effort you make is a stroke of the brush and it will take thousands of strokes and many hours for the painting, the image to reveal itself and display its beautiful colors." Good work @chbartist.

Such an inspiring post specially the point that it take alot of strockes to make the painting reveal its self . In lofe we are supposed to do what we want not what others wants us to . You get it once so live on your own terms .

Wow! the last phrase is very important, sometimes when you are in love you try to do that, and if that ends, you will feel kind of empty, because you painted your dreams elsewhere.

I still paint my canvas but occasionally I abandon it to let the pigment dry. Best regards:-)

I love your sentiments about life.

It's true you must follow your own path ...your intuitions. I've been dreaming and wanting to paint since I was a girl but kept putting it off thinking that it's something you do when you retire. The thing is, not everyone has the privilege of reaching retirement age.

So after the overwhelming feeling got too much, I went and bought canvases, paint and brushes and got busy. As time went by, I just got better and better at it. That was 5 years ago and now consider myself an artist.

Don't die with your talents...your dreams left inside of you.

Do it now!

And I must say, I love your painting! It's absolutely brilliant with the vivid colors and contrast.

Please stop by blog to view my artwork.
Oh, and I will be following to view more of your masterpieces.

Thank You @mongoosely

We need more of these, it's completely true. You don't worry if that might seems negative... The ones looking at it negatively are not living in reality.

Thank you @mediaenthusiast. All the best!

Do not paint your dreams on somebody else's canvas.. I certainly draw the parallel with working for someobdy else in the corporate world :)

Exactly! @roji.abraham

I feel like I have lost my painting. I dreamed a big dream and accomplished it last year. The transition of moving away was so difficult that I have become lost in my worries. It's aweful. I must start with a blank canvas again and I don't know where to begin. Thank you for your post. It inspires me to start finding myself in a new way :)

All the best @starrynight

Hello brother @chbartist, good reflection, excellent "simil" so he calls in the Latin word similis what refers to the similar or comparison. very good message friend. for those of us who are not drawing brushstrokes on our canvas it's time we started doing it, because it can happen to us as you say, "Without the sack and without the crabs"

Agree Bro...@cesarmvm

Completamente cierto, también hay un dicho: El que siembra en tierra ajena; hasta la semilla pierde. Utilizar nuestro lienzo, para plasmar nuestros sueños, metas y propositos en la vida. Excelente Post.

Saludos @yris

I love the idea of paint strokes creating our painting bit by bit. It can be easy to lose focus if we try to imagine the entire goal being completed at once, but by zoning in on the small things, day by day, wonderful achievements arise over time.

Great words @philnewton

Thank you very much so much thank you so much for giving us such a great and great blog and you really liked what you said about life. I again know that you have such a nice post, thank you for sharing us, I thank you very much for your post. Really liked a post you gave us a gift

Thank you @mamun123456!

Welcome dear

A good idea is born of positive thinking and the results are remarkable. As usual @chbartist, "INCREDIBLE!" Have a wonderful day! 👍👍

Thank you @seha76, you too...

Wise words to be valued and taken into account to redefine our lives and our goals, to reflect and think about what canvas we are painting our lives and most importantly if we are painting the life of our children. How many truths to improve the way we bring the growth of our children. Happiness always.

This write up touched me in the deepest part of me. I'm amazed at how u portrayed people who settle for other people's decision in their lives, it saddens me to know that people don't hold the brush while painting on their canvas. The world will be a better place if only people can stand and orchestrate their success stories, if they could wait on no one and create what they've envisioned for their lives, it they could make their dream a reality.
The part that got me most on this post is "Be careful! Do not paint your dreams on someone else's canvas". This is so true! Learn to build ur dreams, passion, business and not just living people's dream. Time is ticking and waits for no one, invest in yourself now!!!!!

The work of art is very wonderful and very sophisticated
Really great article
I wish you all the best

Great words!!....some times we lost the path and is not so easy :).. thanks for your post

Thank you @piccola.valeria. All the best!

Great motivating and inspiring content... @chbartist
I believe, The sky is a canvas, so paint your own life

Yes...@prince121. Agree!

Really a nice thought shared by you. Surely everyone should paint their own canvas and not of others. Every person should get his right to select his own path.

Yes @rajendraparab, do it!

Great post. I agree we do have to live a life pursuing our own dreams and not allowing others to redirect us because we love them. Yes, respect and loyalty is number one on my list.

Great words @katinamc

Beautiful writing & Beautiful painting.
Really appreciate!

I resteem your excellent realty post @chbartist

great job!

painting is to vent all the imaginations we pour on canvas. post that @chbartist share is very suitable and do not paint on the canvas of others. thank you @chbartist has given you a valuable imagination

you made my day, thanks man.

Wow, this is truly breathtaking, I love the bright colours! Also, I find your story is very inspiring :)

Nice , .keep it up.God bless

This is beautiful the best art i've ever seen it looks almost real. I looked at it for few seconds before i could notice it was a drawing. Great job.

You do have a gentle soul, don't you? Nice post! For everyone who like this painting, it has been painted by Leonid Afremov, a Russian–Israeli modern impressionistic painter who works mainly with a palette knife and oils. You can visit his online gallery at https://afremov.com/en/

Well Said..
Dreams are the driving force of a person which give him a reason to move, whether it's life, Job, or any field, keep a dream then go for it..

Wise words. Thanks for sharing it 🖒

Inspiring words, with great truth.

I was expecting a post about bussines/artist model canvas... but this was useful in different way. Did you conisder talk about this too?
It will be interesting see how you manage that.

Blessings

Hermosa y acertada reflexion!!

Dude you are so DEEP!!!
@chbartist for GOVERNOR!!!

For me it is a priority to be up to date and concentrate on my own projects, I don't let any person, no matter how close they may be to me, dictate me or take me away from my perspectives.

That's why it's important that you don't let yourself be affected by distractions or any kind of pressure from others.

good post!!! :p

Inspirational and important post

I love you post!

I love to paint. I do a lot of photography an Graphic Art which is not the same. The key board and the mouse hinders your creativity and when i explain this to my 32 years Software Architect husband he just doesn't get it.

so beautiful picture!
sparkling in my eyes

This is really well written. On another note as a blogger I find myself looking for ways to just get more views sometimes. But when I look at it with a clear perspective I think growing organically is much more rewarding. The only thing I am doing now that is different is I am intentionally searching out decentralized platforms. Thank you for you sage advice! :)

wow!! just WOW.
you just made my day @chbartist. .

Upvoted and re-steemed!

You have a point my friend. That's inspiring.

Nice post...

I loved this @chbartist. It is true that we often times allow persons to use us to build their own dreams while our own are tossed aside. It is with this in mind, that I hope to be one who creates rather than just look for jobs. If you dont work on your dreams, someone else will use you to work on their own indeed. Thank you for your inspiring words. Keep up the good work.

I do not want to sell other people's dreams, but simply to meet mine

That's such an amazing painting. I love the colors of it!

For me it is a need to be forward and focus individually extends, I don't let any individual, regardless of how close they might be to me, direct me or remove me from my points of view. That is the reason it's vital that you don't give yourself a chance to be influenced by diversions or any sort of weight from others.

with your post i can take a good lesson@chbartist

Hi nice article.....Keep writing that's like article and let's help each other also checkout my post click here

I agree with you. You have an excellent thought..

Thank you for inspiring and sharing good thoughts since in reality now a days it is happening. Its up to us how to achieve our dreams in life.

Really inspired by your posts

very nice image and earning easy life

Interesting outlook. It could also be said that do not paint someone else's dream on your canvas. it happens a lot these days with so much peer pressure floating around. After all once you do that, you are incapable of painting your own dream

hi @chbartis.. the paint is great.. it drags me here.. but the reflection that you wrote was so damn true dude..
"Be careful! Do not paint your dreams on someone else's canvas because one day you may be surprised that this person has washed your canvas and you will be in the harsh reality of just having a clear glass on your face"
This is the BOOM statement..❤️ it.

@chbartist . I so relate to this post. All my life I have been painting my dreams on someone else's canvas. But not anymore. I am suffering hardships but this time the canvas is mine for sure. Awesome post. Thanks. It was like revisiting my past.

True, good read. Inspiring.

Good post.@chbartist

I fully agree with you, life is short we have to enjoy the opportunity

Excellent post that forces us to pause and consider where we are on our path in life.

a very good post for friends @chbartist

This is cool! This is getting to be the order of things lately. Where parents draw out career path for their children not minding their interest(s). Where best university score to study your desired course is so high and difficult to attain and some parents are being selective of race or tribe to marry from... Thanks for the reminder "do not paint your dreams on someone else's canvas". Good writeup, worth reading over and over👏👏👏

Beautiful, and never forget, no one of as is a robot or a kind of code, so our paintings are never linear or perfect.

Great posting ! Thanks for your inspiration!

Great post.
I like this your writing.
I appreciate your blog.

I thought this was a wonderful post! Thank You!

Hello @chbartist beautiful your way of writing, with your analogies you make the mind fly to the place needed to understand what you want to convey.
Certainly, I think that everyone uses their own colors to paint, some days will be living colors, full of light and others and more opaque and tenuous, however in the nuances is that we find our true colored ballot to paint our own canvas.
I like your way of transmitting what you want, my most sincere congratulations.
