Introducing @CheerfulGiver
For those familiar with @CheerfulGiver, please skip to the next section of this article. For those who are unaware, the primary purpose of @CheerfulGiver is to help others around the world through the generosity and power of the Steemit community with the giving philosophy of giving people a hand up, not a hand out. Empowering people so they can forever change their family tree is what @CheerfulGiver is all about.
This will be accomplished by individuals simply upvoting @CheerfulGiver's posts at first. The steem dollar profits from those posts will be given to individuals in need across the world. As the steem power of @CheerfulGiver grows, it will become a perpetual donation machine through the power of self voting. This may be the one time that we can all agree that self voting for donation purposes is a great thing! Please check out my first few posts:
Week 1 Progress Report for August 15, 2017
What a first week it has been for @CheerfulGiver! Thank you for all those who followed, upvotes, and resteemed. You are greatly appreciated! Once a week or so, I plan to give a progress report to share how we are doing, how much has been donated, how many followers we have, etc, etc. The first several weeks and months can be rough for a new account and overall I am very pleased with how the first week has gone. Hopefully it is a sign of greater things to come.
Followers
First up is followers. @CheerfulGiver now has 35 followers, an increase of (drum roll please) 35! Thank you to all those who follow me. Please get the word out if you know of others that would like to follow and contribute to this project.
Upvote Rewards
Only the first two posts have given out rewards, but @CheerfulGiver is up to $6.9 SBD and has a steem power of 11.4 ... not bad for 1 week. Looking ahead to next week, there are several post that should pay out pretty big as well as some comments. This should put us in the range of the $25 SBD needed to fund our first person (see my other posts for more details on this)!! A special thanks to @Stellabelle for all of her upvotes and resteems. As you can see, the majority of the rewards can be attributed to her. Here is a list of the top upvoters from SteeMVP.com.
Donations
There were no donations in week 1, but maybe this will be the week for our first donation!!
Funded Individuals
No individuals were funded in week 1 since this is our first week. Week 2 looks promising given the upcoming payouts.
It will take a team effort!
In one of @Stellabelle's replies to me, she said that to do well I need to get "support from others who are like-minded" and that "group efforts generally do well". To get this project off the ground will take a team effort. Thank you for all those who have contributed so far. If you know of anyone who is like-minded and can help our group, let them know about our project so we can fund even more individuals in need! I am very excited about the potential to really help people around the world!
Disclaimer
Any payout from this post will be added to the SBD pool to fund the next individual through kiva.org.
