The Importance of Helping Others - Part 1

in life •  7 years ago

Hello. My name is @CheerfulGiver and this is part 1 of a multipart series entitled “The Importance of Helping Others”

Part 1: The majority of the world lives without basic necessities

It is time to accept the truth. In general, the world is a difficult place to live. Most people in the world live without the basic necessities of life, namely food, water, and shelter. For many who do have food and water, it might very well be contaminated, poisoning themselves and their children. It takes everything they have just for them and their children to survive the day. That is the case of the poorest of the poor, typically in underdeveloped countries.

For those of us lucky enough to live in developed countries, we have all seen he commercials of little children drinking dirty water. It quite honestly breaks my heart to see that. Before we can begin to solve the problem, we must first say it out loud and accept that it is the truth. Ignoring problems does not make them less real, but it certainly causes them to persist.

Let me say it this way: There are many people in the world who need our help.

Stay tuned for part 2.
