Taking swimming lessons : No one learns to swim in the shallow water

Yes

I learned a very basic rule to learn swimming that "No one learns to swim in the shallow end of the pool".

I go for swimming every year for one month but always afraid to go in deep side of the swimming pool, this year my 9-year old son also started to take his swimming lessons and, I am really surprised as well happy to see that he started to swim within few days and I am still not that much confident in swimming.
My son's fast learning of swimming made me sure that to get confident in swimming I must practice in the deep water where I could not stand whenever I drown.

Me learning to swim in 4 ft water :-)

After seeing my son swimming I also decided to swim in deep water so could swim with confidence.

My son inspired me to make friendship with water and now I am confident that I too will swim with confidence soon.

Great! Thank you for sharing your story and encouraging people to learn swimming. I always loved it but I know a lot people who cannot swim. It's an important skill!

CONGRATULATIONS! I love swimming 😊

Thanks! It is really a fun to swim.

Face the fear head-on and learn drowning in the water. Can you? If not, then you won't be afraid of drowning anymore 😜

You'll swim like a fish

That's awesome! It's cool to see roles reversed where your son was able to teach you a life lesson. Good luck on the swimming and more importantly enjoy the time with your son!

Good job to you and your son! I hope I could learn how to swim as well. It is the fear of drowning that I have to conquer. What's the next step for you and your son? Competitive swimming perhaps like Olympics? :D

I'm going to learn how to swim someday! Thanks for sharing this it inspire me to learn how to swim too since I'm 30 years old and can't swim.

Swimming is a great sport and hobby that relaxes you and brings benefits to your health. Congratulations
