Manipulation is the tool that has been used over the ages in creating zealots and terrorists. The power of a manipulator is to create in you, a feeling of dependency on him. He starts by pulling you away from your friends, family, associates and colleagues. This is the first phase. He occupies you with activities and "critical assignments" that give you a false sense of importance.
He drowns out the voice of reason in you through manipulative teachings from his "experience" with the supernatural. He exalts this experience above everything else.
And once the supernatural is brought into the art of manipulation, the "manipulated" loses his ability to go back to "ground state".
But you must remember that one man's experience cannot be a doctrine. One man's experience cannot be the standard to judge your obedience.
This is happening everyday in the churches across your street and in cell groups; in mosques and in prayer grounds, as pastors and Imams create a "We-Against-Them" mentality in naive, ignoramuses.
What do you think gives birth to people who are intolerant of other people's obedience/faith? Zealots, terrorists, separatists, and men-pleasers who think they're serving God?
I've been trying to articulate my thoughts, deleting and writing again, and I'm so sure that what I wanted to share is bigger than this, but I rest my case.
May we have eyes that see through the manipulations, and the courage to not ignore what we see.
Very concise
