Developed countries have developed machines that can think for themselves. In Africa and other developing regions, We are still struggling to provide common electricity. We are driven by politics, we import used cars, we believe in a big job in a big office, we manufacture only things that feed our egos, our so-called young stars only look at the world and at themselves through the eyes of the lesser class (for example black Americans and the black panther phenomenon and the typical stereotyping by other black people with worse problems the world over),our educational systems are still certificate driven rather than knowledge and solution driven, our stock exchanges are owned by oligarchs (50% of the Nigerian stock exchange derives its value from common cement!) and we celebrate the unintelligent mediocre brutes that run the rest of us,we teach our children how to become good employees and excellent slaves, rather than support them to think independently , we stifle innovation and think that innovators have mental problems and challenges, we think that it is normal to become social media heroes due to the fact that ones' diction maybe correct but the underlying idea behind the use and structure of the language spoken in itself is fundamentally flawed, we create psuedo-heroes who think that appearing in national, international and global news media is more important than creating a movement that truly can cause change on the ground, we use the platforms created by the developed countries to make ourselves popular one way or the other, we love talking about and appreciate the tin pot and semi-tinpot dictators that have amassed wealth for themselves and their families , friends and acquaintances from the coffers of government or through the unethical acquisition of national commodity assets and tell ourselves: "wow! that old soldier has so many oil wells!", we are proud of their children who go to smoke hookahs in places like Marrakesh, go to finishing school in Switzerland and live in gigantic mansions in California,we think that it is normal for such people and their families to live in the highbrow areas of Asokoro,Victoria island and Banana island while the rest of the population suffers and struggles for less than one dollar a day, we struggle to "keep up with the joneses" and take our children to Disney World in Florida or Jumeirah in Dubai and forget that we have Ndong Falls in Central Nigeria and Shere Hills on the Plateau , we forget our own knowledge economic giants who exist within the four walls of the university system but are frustrated by their own peers who bow to the political will of those old soldiers and their cohorts who do everything to keep the populations of developing countries suppressed, we celebrate movies like black panther with our American brothers and sisters but have done nothing about the great stories that exist in our histories,we believe that finding a job is better than supporting those with great vision, passion and drive to create jobs,we listen to gossip rather than find out the facts for ourselves,we forget that everything started with an idea and think that anyone who is into ideas is stupid hence the old soldier who acquired oil wells through unethical and undue influence is better, the oligarch who gives one of the biggest black populations cement is a hero (we buy at HIS price!), the white collar job which was created as a result of the actualization of ideas is the best, taking our children to Disney world without doing something about our own local places are the best, we ignore the people that can change society! IF the developing world is to indeed catch up with developed economies,we cannot rely on commodities! The knowledge economy is the only way that some sense of congruence may even be possible. To make matters worse, we accepted faiths from these growing economies and have twisted them into tools of economic advancement and political propaganda. We have ridiculed the very idea behind faith and have made gods of men instead of men who guide our paths to the divine. So we wallow in our combined stupidity without electricity, water healthcare or basic things that every human is supposed to have. While cars drive themselves and human beings are actually considering setting up colonies outside of earth. We continue to adore the idiots that made us this way and think that these people fought for the advancement of our individual countries but do not realize that it is because of these people that we are the way we are. Like I told a friend of mine in a phone conversation who is in the United Kingdom: "We will never see true development in countries like Nigeria and others in our lifetimes". Awful as it may sound it is the truth! In an era of "Slay Kings" and "Slay Queens" where the most popular bloggers make money off gossip and we are stupidly reading that Gossip. It is okay anyway , only the resilient will make it through and Shine!!!
