This project is a straightforward approach to the redesign of our culture!
I have recently discovered this revolutionary gifting economy system and I love it!
It could be called a blueprint for a a new civilization which is based on human concern and environmental reclaimation.
Equal Distribution of Wealth
The Venus Project works towards having the Earth's resource become the heritage of all the world's people instead of being controlled by a group of elitists.
The project wants to discard the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt, environmental degradation and unnecessary human suffering.
Human Behavior can be Directed
We know this from experience, we are now choosing whether to use our technology for good or evil...
The Venus project wants to direct towards the positive for the maximum benefit of our planet and it's people.
If this project were to be mass implemented, it would require nothing less than the total redesign of our culture.
Jacque Fresco
Jacque was born in 1916 and passed away recently in 2017, He was the founder of the Venus Project.
He has a background in industrial design and social engineering.
The Venus Project is a representation of the climax of Fresco's life work.
Jacque's vision was to integrate the best science and technology available into a comprehensive plan for a new society based on human and environmental concern, a truly global vision of hope for the future of mankind during the technological age. (LINK)
A True Optimist
Fresco saw that the lectures being presented across the globe all reflected the same melancholy downgrade of our perception of the world.
The main concern of these lectures are always the same: Lawlessness, poverty, racial tension and divorce.
Jacque observed many of these lectures did not offer creative solutions to these problems.
This became the focus of his presentations.
He would outline the negatives...
Then provide a wide range of constructive alternatives.
Resource Based Economy
It is a system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter or any other system of debt or servitude. All resources become the common heritage of all of the inhabitants, not just a select few.

He argues this because he believes the Earth is more than abundant enough for everyone and that the unending practice of rationing resource through a monetary value is absolutely irrelevant and counter productive to our survival and further evolution of conciousness.
This is more than just poetic, it is the best possible end goal for our society!
We are currently living in a heavily monetized culture, everyone is taught from the start of formal education that they need to find a job! That job will secure them funds which are controlled by a government bank which they must trust.
That bank will let that person get a mortgage for a house so he can work his ass off until he is old and feeble.
Essentially wasting our time on Earth completely, monetization is just another form of control, we cannot disagree from this.
Cryptocurrency is just the start of a human revolution
Anyone is allowed a nearly restriction free bank account on their phone or laptop without a middleman now because of Crypto.
What we are not addressing is that there is still money, we still need to pay for food and we are restricted very much by all of this.
If for example, everyone had an equal portion of the land on this Earth, we would all plant a large garden and be able to grow our own food, but big corporations would rather monetize your apple rather than let you pick it yourself.
There is enough land for everyone...
There is no true scarcity...
It is all an illusion...
We MUST RISE from this unending negative cycle of monetization!
I have only just begun delving into Jacque Fresco's work and have a vast amount of research that needs to be done in this subject.
I hope for our world to become a truly self sufficient and independent system from the state!
Humans should be free to reap the glory of this world freely!

ok, so just two quick questions...
if there is no money and only resources to share, who's in control of deciding who gets access to those resources and how much?
if I manage to build my garden on my plot of land to flourish 10 stories high, how's that fair to my neighbors who can't seem to grow anything? And since that's not fair, won't the "powers that be" who decide "resource distribution" take away all my excess and share it with their friends instead?
So, I guess at that point, I'll just go back to growing the little bit I can, go back to sleep, and call it a day! Win win for everyone! :D
And of course, with so much cheap land available all over the U.S. (relatively speaking), why do people seem so compelled to flock into cities and pay millions of dollars for a few hundred square feet of space where you can't really grow anything?

as someone who has tried to live a non-urban life repeatedly in the United States, yes there is cheap land. But in those rural areas, the people who own land already, do NOT want anyone coming in there and building anything other than cookie cutter mcmansions with ecocide yards.
I know people whove had their things burned down by their neighbors, and thats if there is no bizarre tax or zoning issues they throw at you. Or neighborhood rules committees.
It really starts to sound like soviet russia, which was bribery, but this is too, as it is just the people of town who have accumulated wealth expressing their power to prevent freedom, while wrapping themselves in a flag.
It's quite disgusting, makes it dificult to be patriotic when those at the front of the patriotism line are the ones fracking and dumping shit in the water supply, and telling everyone else their tiny sliver of america is the big problem.

The Venus Project entails a supercomputer with an algorithim which will ensure perfect division of resources.
I am not involved in this project and have only just begun to research so I do not know much more.
This will be an economy which you do not need to be greedy, if my garden was 10 stories high, I would share it with my neighbors, no need to hoard when there is no gold.
We will all be happy when this day comes, the day of free reign of man, the day without chemically altered lifestyles!

Leaving an opinion about the work of Jacque Fresco wouldn't really be fair without examining it in more detail. It sounds like he was a visionary, and there's definitely room for more of those in this world.
I'm interested to hear his theories on how this revolutionary utopia would deal with certain natural human tendencies.
They say that money is the root of all evil, but I don't believe that. It's envy, jealousy, and fear which leads to anger, that truly twists people.
How would such a program be instituted?
People have an incredible propensity to take natural gifts, and want more of them that is reasonable for one person to have.
That could be sex, power, money, surfing, fishing, etc. Anything. Anything that puts you off balance.
Then there's the words of King Haile Selassie. "Until the philosophy that holds one race superior and another inferior, is finally, and permanently discredited and abandoned......there'll be always war."
Equaling everything out sounds great in theory, but the philosophies of hatred must either go first, or at the same time.

I have been a fan of this idea for years now...and I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that this truly is the dream for the future of humanity. They are on here. As far as I know, Roxanne Meadows runs it. She was Jacques partner for many decades before he passed. She still continues to work towards his goals with help from volunteers all around the world. 😃

It's hard for people, especially older people, to wrap their heads around a society without money. That's what this is, a society without money. Capitalism and communism are basically the same thing except that they differ in how much the state intervenes in business. They both, however, are the same system of money as a means to exchange value and your own labor, all for the sake of just surviving.
What the Venus project is talking about is not making peopke earn their living, their life, but using the vast knowledge and stunning technology we have accumulated over the generations to build a society that actually supports every human being and allows us all to shine to the best of our potential. Like I said, that's hard for some older folks to embrace because well, to put it simply, old dogs....new tricks.

In a perfect world I support the idea. But in the real world, it looks like we head towards a dystopia, where few decide everything. Lets hope that we can make a turn for the better, enslaving machines instead of people.
My point was that the technology already exists. We don't need to wait for the future. We just need to make it happen. And it can't happen with force, like the previous experiments of New World Order. Somebody has to create a community, where the principles are followed and SHOW others that it works, is sustainable and, most importantly, is better than what we have now. If you build it, they will come.

I have read about this before! I remember seeing a documentary where Jacque Fresco explained his vision. Really futuristic and inspiring ideas!
And I believe crypto can help achieve those goals, by providing an alternative financial system, we could just start our own civilization, leaving behind old and corrupted way of doing things.

I love this! This is the way life should be and hopefully theres enough of us out there who are willing to co create this future.
