Love is not a weakness. Love is such a strong force.
To start with, I would like to share with you my favorite verses about love:
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NIV)
Love is such a strong force.
When you love, you think of yourself less. You put the welfare of your loved ones first.
When you love, you don’t see what your loved ones can give you in return. You just give and express love even without expectation or gain.
When you love, you can do things you don’t normally do. You can do anything for the people you love. You can do better than what you know you can.
When you love, you choose to be strong for the people you love especially at times that you are their source of strength. Even when you feel weak, you can be their shoulder to lean on.
When you love, you can look past the mistakes of those you love. You can forgive and love them again.
Love is such a strong force, it can change a person. I’ve heard a lot of stories about how love changed people.
I know a person who used to be a troublemaker, a lazy person, a selfish one and who did a lot of wrong decisions in life. When this person became a father, I saw that his love for his kids and wife changed him. He became more matured, generous, caring, loving and family-oriented.
I know also of a friend who is a mother. Her love for her family made her sacrifice a lot. She worked hard abroad and stayed there despite the loneliness and the unfortunate events just to earn for her family and give her children a good future.
Love is such a strong force; but there are times that we forget to love a very special person in our lives— ourselves. We can do anything for others but sometimes we forget about ourselves. We must remember this line that a song says, “learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.” You cannot give what you do not have. So in order to love others, learn to love yourself first.

Indeed, loving does not necessarily mean you forget about yourself. It is important to love yourself and let that overflowing love shower upon others. Love is infinite and it should not diminish when you give it. Love, love and love!
