Hi Food-Lovers!
Finally, it was time for the next round of Krakow MasterChef.
If you didn't follow my first post on this, we (colleagues an I) are gigantic food lovers so we came to an idea creating our own version of MasterChef. You can find the first post HERE
- 4 persons
- 4 rounds
- Starter, main and dessert
- Scoring for taste and presentation
As this colleague didn't have enough chairs he needed to improvise a little, but hey, it made it nice and cozy though.
The first dish, homemade tortellini filled with scallops in sauce. To be honest, this might be the most amazing tortellini's I've ever tasted in my entire life. Not sure how this was possible, but it seemed it was.
After the great starter, I was very curious about what was next, so I jumped into the kitchen to see what's happening and also, to put a little bit of pressure on the cook of course.
It was quite funny as suddenly I heard 'Alexa, how much time is left?'... But there was no Alexa with us, so it confused me big time. Then, my friend walked to the corner of the kitchen and repeated once again 'Alexa, how much time is left' while suddenly I heard '10 minutes left'. So, it seemed that he has something similar to Google home, called 'Alexa'.
Ok, back to the main dish: Sous-vide beef served with mashed potatoes, onion cream, bread, and salad.
To be honest, I was expecting more of it (probably because the starter was a 10+) so I was a tiny bit disappointed. The meat was very well done, but I couldn't feel the entire dish coming together. It was tasty, that's for sure, but I didn't come higher than a 7 for this dish. The presentation was super, so for this, he got a higher score.
Then, it was time for dessert but I must say I was pretty full already. The dessert: Chocolate pistachio mouse topped with honey drops.
Well, I can tell you, this mouse, 1st class food porn (sorry for saying but not sorry). How the taste came together, very, very, very well done. I wasn't a big fan of the honey drops as it was quite sticky and not easy to chew but the mouse was terribly awesome.
The presentation, well, as you can see it was a bit boring so here's the part where he lost some points, as we need to stay honest.
