I’m a Christian so from my belief man has been eating meat since the fall (since man disobeyed God). But before the fall mankind was vegetarian which means we were originally created to NOT EAT MEAT. Which also means we can get all the necessary nutrients we need from plants. Wow!
I was okay with eating meat before I became aware of what’s happening behind the scenes. In fact my last meal was supposed to be lamb! @branlee87 told me not too long ago that I WAS a good cook, before I became a pescatarian 😅
I used to see videos of how cruelly animals were treated before they were slaughtered. Those videos used to pop up occasionally on Facebook. I knew they were going to be difficult to watch but I forced myself to watch the whole of one because I just had to know the truth. It has haunted me to this day.
Why can’t the animals be treated with respect? Because it is too expensive. Respect and decency come at a cost.
Administering anaesthesia to piglets before cutting their tails, and cutting and tearing off their scrotum is too costly. Giving chickens more room to move is too costly. Throwing male chicks into the grinder alive is much cheaper.
Did you know that animals are intelligent and have feelings and emotions?
Female cows are impregnated so that they can produce milk. Their babies are taken from them and killed (murdered if you will). The mothers will continue calling for her babies for days and weeks.
I really don’t know why I didn’t turn away from meat then. It was only after watching “Before the Flood” and “Cowspiracy” that I made up my mind to become a pescatarian.
Why pescatarian and not vegetarian or vegan? Because I had to be practical for me to see this through. I know being a vegetarian or vegan would be too difficult for me. As a pescatarian I do eat seafood but I try not to indulge because after all they are living creatures too.
I do feel bad about consuming products from cows like milk and butter but this is where I’m at. I’m doing the best I can in a realistic way for me. And whether I’m getting enough of the necessary nutrients we’ll find out tomorrow when I get the results of my blood test. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Well, yeah. I was thinking about becoming semi-/somewhat-vegetarian before you did! xP But to me, convenience comes first, and I wasn't sure you would support this type of living lol! But when you watched (probably) "Before the Flood", I recommended "Cowspiracy" to you, lol! xP
Good it all turned out well, haha! :)
