"The defining of good and evil is of considerable importance, and few people have ever done it in a way that is understandable and which matches reality."
- Prester John in "A Lodging of Wayfaring Men"
Meet a remarkable author and thinker.
I first "met" Paul Rosenberg (in a virtual sense), when I read his seminal book "A Lodging of Wayfaring Men".
About fifteen years ago, "Lodging" was originally published anonymously. It was passed around on the internet among hardcore crypto-anarchists as a PDF document. Since those days, Paul Rosenberg has revealed himself as the author.
At the time I found "Lodging," I dove in and read it with utter fascination. I was captivated by the concepts and the drama. In a world where governments at all levels were destroying my life, the story it presented began to give me considerable hope for the future.
"Lodging" provides a prescient, prophetic look at how liberating economic communities can be formed in cyberspace, sidestepping the oppressive reach of human government. There is far more to the story, and perhaps I'll re-read it soon and publish a proper book review.
Meanwhile, here's today's great news:
Paul has arrived on Steemit. He has begun posting as @allforprivacy.
I had been lobbying for him to sign up for a long time. Today, I am more than pleased to be able to extend my personal welcome:
Paul, welcome to Steemit!
We're delighted that you've joined us!

Paul wears many hats.
He is a founder of CryptoHippie, a pioneering internet privacy provider. As already mentioned, he is the author of the amazing "A Lodging of Wayfaring Men". He has written many other books as well.
Paul's writing extends well beyond creative and inspiring fiction and historical philosophy. Paul also writes inspiring essays on his website, The Free-Man's Perspective, where you can sample both his subscription-based newsletter and his shorter, free email list essays. Paul is a widely sought-out public speaker on the topics of liberty, privacy, and cryptocurrency.
His exploits are almost too numerous to mention.
If you would like to learn more about Paul, following this link may help a bit. I hope he will also soon publish an #introduceyourself post for your reading enjoyment.
A few years after reading "Lodging," I was privileged to meet Paul in person at a Libertopia conference. As a featured conference speaker, he had presented a fascinating view of history and government that included enlightening insights about the influence of Judaism and Christianity. He spoke of how these religions inherently counteract the oppressive nature of human government. I was very impressed by that talk. Paul graciously agreed to join me for lunch afterwards, during which he shared some more personal insights on the topic.
Although I've been unable to find a recording of that particular Libertopia talk, I did find an interview of Paul recorded at Anarchapulco. The interview covers very similar ground.
Paul Rosenberg Interview on Anarchist
In this interview, Paul presents a great historical overview of the great gulf between human government and the liberating philosophies expounded in Judeo-Christian philosophies. He is also a strong supporter of Bitcoin and the ideas of cryptocurrency and free market money.
Here's the bottom line:
Paul Rosenberg is an amazingly clear and knowledgeable thinker. He unfailingly brings new and refreshing perspectives to the table in his writing and speaking. His essays are amazing in their ability to "cut through the fog," to expose and reveal the underlying reality of whatever scenario he may chose to discuss.
