"The very act of becoming an entrepreneur is contrarian to middle class values, study hard, get a good job, be happy with secure income and steady salary."
- Rashmi Bansal -

I have to pause today. Right now.

I must take a few minutes to express my gratitude to my LORD Jesus.

2017 was a very rough year.

Funds were tight. Work was scarce. Jobs were few and far between.

In other words, I was hungry for work and for essential sustenance.

The enterprise was slow.

Sales were down. Companies owed us money.

I did odd jobs.

I created a control system for a machine that packaged catnip. I designed and built theater props. I parted with some Steem. I sold odds and ends. I was scrambling to survive.

About four months ago,

out of the blue, the LORD hooked me up with an excellent contract.

I've been learning a lot.

I'm working with great colleagues. The work is fascinating. Our clients are happy, and want us to do more. Compensation is outstanding.

"He brought me out into a broad place;
he rescued me, because he delighted in me."

- Psalm 18:19

THANK YOU, Jesus,

for putting me in a "wider place."

I am happy for your turn-around! I remember you working on the mirror!

Thank you kindly!

I owe my faithful readers a completion of that series... several more articles to be written, especially about The Rose, the backstage activities, and the performances themselves... :D

Just need one of them "round tuits" to get me going... ;)

As a middle-aged and middle-class man, I've been a grunt at various levels early on, but self-employed/entrepreneur (but not as entrepreneurial as you, I am sure) for some 18 years now. It's stressful, and sucks often, and it fully occupies your mind at odd hours (2am more often than not) since your livelihood is completely under your control.

It sucks, but everything else sucks more. I'm spoiled and I don't look often enough at the fact that there is so much unmeasurable value in having the freedom and flexibility to do what you want with your hours in the day.

In the end, I'm glad you were clever enough to survive the lean times in order to receive the blessings of better times.

"...it fully occupies your mind at odd hours (2am more often than not)..."

Oh, how utterly true! :O

Thanks for pulling back the veil a little bit on your own experience of this.

I've been "independent" since around 1980, in varying degrees, and thoroughly so since the mid-80's.

I wouldn't have it any other way (unless it were utterly a matter of family provision/survival.)

Thank you for the positive kind thoughts.

That’s very cool. Thank you Jesus. Blessings brother.

Thanks. I have been blessed!

2017 was a tough year for me, too. Things are getting better!

Very glad to hear things are looking up for you as well. ;)

We can always trust that everything will be fine. I'm glad you're doing better.

Thank you.

Did you thank Trump too? He wants the credit...C'mon, spread a little love around, lol

I pay vanishingly little to no attention to the man...

@creatr the faith is great dear friend, as it is customary to say here in my province "God squeezes but does not hang" nothing is forever you just have to keep the faith and everything will be fine
Very happy for you dear friend

Thank you very much, my dear friend @jlufer.

I like your saying from your province, "God squeezes but does not hang," I will try to remember that one. :D

I appreciate your kind words. :)

😄😇😄

@creatr

You are one organized cat. I am impressed at all you have to offer. Best wishes @creatr
