Assuming others to be a part of God and to work for their well-being is the only religion. If a person serves someone, then he gets absolute contentment and special kind of peace.
For the service, it should be the first thought in the mind of a man that the miserable person is his own and if he remains unhappy, then I will be sad too. That is, when we have a sense of kindness, affection, and compassion in the heart, we will be ready to serve. Our body will also feel the coldness when seeing someone shivering in the cold, then the sense of arranging the blanket for that person will awake in our mind instantaneously.
Man is a social creature. The community of its relations and friends around, it is perceptible. It is their duty to help each other in such a way. The special thing is that ego also gets destroyed by the service. Ego is the biggest obstacle in God's realization. Service means dedication.
What is dedication ?
A tree serves people their whole life. They give oxygen, shade, and sometimes food.
When the tree became old, then it started drying, its roots also became weak. People brought saw and axes to cut down the tree. A small tree standing beside that old tree spoke to the old tree -
"You gave them oxygen to breathe, shade to relax, and food to eat. And, they are still coming here to cut you down. What is this? How selfish they are. Aren't you angry?"
On this, the tree said -
"Anger? What for? I am happy to think that even after my death I am going to be of some use to them."
It is the dedication that in every situation, you keep the sense of charity in your heart.
There are many types of services. Sometimes, people serve someone to gain something out of it. This type of service is to take advantage of someone or to harm them on purpose. This is called a vengeful(vindictive) service. But if he serves in a selfless manner, then he is righteous. By which salvation is attained.
