I'm not sure what it is about me. But I question absolutely everything. I question anything that I see, hear, or think. I am constantly questioning my own beliefs.
I ask myself sometimes, "Do I have a skewed sense of reality? Are my beliefs true?" And going even deeper, I question whether or not that question in my head is my own thought.
This is getting a little confusing. But, here's the thing: as such intelligent beings, we allow thousands of things to enter our subconscious without even realizing it. When you're at a family dinner and you're telling your aunt about about an unpopular topic that few mention, and she tells you that you're a conspiracy theorist. Even if you know for a fact that something is true, if you are told something enough times, you will be conditioned to believe it.
Like most people, I allow what people tell me about myself to dictate how I live my life. So I must ask myself: Am I being true to myself? Am I making decisions for me, or for everyone else?
You might be so inclined to ask yourself the same thing. Are you working your job because it's what you love? Or is it because you've been told money is more important than following your dreams?
There's so much info going into our brains every day it's hard to sort it out. One thing that helps a lot (which I need to do much more of) is meditation and prayer. Sometimes you need to disconnect yourself with the physical world so that you can be more in tune with yourself spiritually.
Let me know if any of you question yourselves from time to time.
I too have searched and questioned reality god truth, most my life. It lead me to science, buddhism, taoism and advaita vedanta. In these philosophies no beliefs were required. They mainly are a scientific approach to our inner workings. What i have found has changed my life forever. I would highly recommend meditation. Thanks for sharing.
