Fish oil which raises the good cholesterol (HDL) is what is essential for me to use everyday because I am getting older and I have to protect my heart because of that. I made my parents to use it as well because they are also not getting any younger as well so they needed to support their bones and their cholesterol levels. My parents have no problem about their cholesterol because we are just simple eaters in this house. I mean my mother doesn't cook a variety of foods and only sticks to cooking either fish cooked in vinegar, boiled local vegetables and I mean boiled with no fermented fish sauce to flavor it and call it vegetable and not even fitting to be called what it resembles like our local vegetable dishes like "Pakbet" or "Bulanglang" where this dishes are really tasty and not with my mother's way to cook it.

Part of the problem in cooking complete dishes is that there is a lack of variety of ingredients sold in my village and the lack of budget in buying the said ingredients as well. As a result my mother will just cook very simple foods which if I would think about it is really healthy. Anyway, going to the market is not really practical nowadays because of the exorbitant cost of both commodities and then fuels particularly with the car that we are using although it is a Toyota Sedan but it is old and now costs a lot because of its bad fuel consumption or mileage. I can't even make my father to sent it to fix what is wrong with it because he might not get the job done anyway even looking for the best service that this car needs which also do not really belong to us.

This fish oil will give us Omega-3 fatty acids like EPA and DHA at around 250 mg and other Fatty acids of 50 mg content while we also get 1o mg of cholesterol within the 1,000 mg of one serving capsule per day.

But I needed particularly needed calcium because I had experimented in not using it and the results are not good, I suffered from back pains as if I would get back to what i started from where a lingering pain in my back kills me even if I was lying down on my back. So I immediately continued in supplementing myself with calcium tablets right after the return of my body pains. Calcium is also an essential part of my diet to help me control my body's phosphate levels. It is acting as my Phosphate binder and a source of my vitamin D3 which I also needed because of my low exposure with Sunlight. I do think that also it affects my appetite but I have to consider the preventive and supportive effects of Calcium particularly with the type of bone issues that I have and complications arising from it.

I quite love and hate taking supplements but if I would think about it, most of the elderly or senior citizen's with health complaints are caused by lacking or imbalance of simple nutrients like as simple as exposing the skin to the sunlight, Calcium supplementation, taking vitamin C, regular supplementation of essential vitamins and minerals for the reason of not getting enough intake of variety of foods. That is why people are getting sick because of deficiencies of nutrients that people needs in order to maintain a good bill of health. Well we also have to consider the consumption of wrong foods regularly which can lead to the top ten killer diseases or illnesses in the world.
