We went early yesterday to the OPD of my hospital. It turns out that we should not wait that long because we already had an appointment date and time. So the result was I got tortured sitting down for a long time waiting until the 7:30 AM batch was over before the 10:30 AM batch would begin where it includes the hemodialysis and vascular clinic services where both of which has a lot of patients.
My mother thought that the system was the same in the OPD when we were going there from the late 90's where patients have to go early to be served early, but now we have to chat using viber app to make an appoinment. Maybe it was donr that way because of the pandemic.
It was already late noontime when we finally see the vascular surgeon. However, that will not be possible without the intervention of my mother to the officer that calls the numbers of the patients as the final step to meet their respective doctors.
So when that officer called a number later than my nber, my mother approached the official and asked him why that number was called before my number? He then told my mother that the patient was a senior citizen. My mother said to him that I am a PWD or person with disabilities with equal privileges to a senior citizen like priorities in queues, discounts on medicines, basic goods, free service on government hospitals, and some other discounts on my purchased using my PWD I.D. card and purchase booklets.
After the said official or officer heard what my mother told him, we ate then let in immediately afterwards. Then the doctor told me that the output of the drain in my operation site is still high despite after going home from there, we got an 8mL of liquid from the collection vessel.
In addition, I was told that it will be better for me to leave it that wsy until there is no more discharge. However he took off some of the staples but not all because of his concern that my wound would burst open considering that one section is just not fully closed considering that it is aready 26 days since the operation of my arm for AV fistula graft repair..
I took heed of the vascular surgeon's advice and decided to go back again after a couple of weeks and hopefully my wounds would be almost completely healed by that time if God wills it.
