The Lockdown Is Starting To Ease-up Now But Not Here In My Province Yet

Today in some areas of the main island of Philippines Luzon the government is easing up the lockdown situation. Most people can even do religious activities, go within the area freely where the so-called "General Community Quarantine" is being implemented but still there is a mandatory wearing of face masks.

Some mode of public transportation is not allowed to operate yet like the common "Jeepney" but buses can operate with only half capacity. In my opinion buses is a confined space and it is still dangerous to ride it even with this kind of physical distancing guideline.

The sick elderly must remain in their homes but I do not know if my parents are included in that category because they are not sick but only taking antihypertensive drugs. But I learned just recently they are not forbidden to go out but only those who are sick.

We Are All In This Together So Keep Safe

Leisure activities like concerts are not yet permitted and essential businesses can now operate. These are just for the category of selected places under general quarantine. But it is funny that religious activities can resume but with observance of physical or social distancing.

For me that is not a good thing to do since church activities just means that large crowd of people will gather together in an extended amount of time in a confined space. So if someone out there is infected and not showing signs of the virus then most of the people in the congregation will surely get infected.

The wearing of masks must be done while in public for a longer period of time and must be enforced and is now mandatory under the general community quarantine because the mode of transmission is from person to person via the things coming out from the mouth when somebody is speaking especially when they cough or sneeze.

Now these measures might be implemented here in my area only if we can see that there is a flattening of the curve. But the infections continue even though there is a lockdown and such so I am not optimistic that we can see any easing yet here in my area but until a covid cure is found the restrictions and hardships will continue mentally, physically, financially, and all the -lys in our lives.
