The suspects in terror in Barcelona are planning a bigger and deadlier attack from the action they were doing on Thursday (17/08/2017) ago.
Police suspect 12 people were involved in the attack. Five of them were shot dead, four were arrested, and three fugitives were identified.
Local officials alleged that two of the three fugitives might have died in an explosion at a house in the town of Alcanar, about 200 kilometers from Barcelona, on Wednesday night before.
From the house, police found dozens of gas cylinders, which are thought to be used for larger attacks.
"They are preparing for one or more attacks in Barcelona, and an explosion at Alcanar stops this because they no longer have the material they need to carry out a larger space attack," said Josep Lluis Trapero of the local police.
After the explosion, the suspects quickly changed the plan of terror. They used cars to hit pedestrians in Barcelona and Cambrils.
The Cambrils suspects have ax and knife in the car and a false explosive belt attached to their body.
Both attacks in Spain use the same modus operandi.
The driver deliberately targeted pedestrians with their vehicles and this terror was also used in a series of attacks in Europe.
