How getting substance abuse treatment changed my life

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

I really like this story man. I can relate in some ways, not exactly, but in some ways I can relate to this. I like how you became honest with yourself, accepted the darkness within and rather than numbing it, you chose to fight it.

I used to be a delinquent as well but what really changed my life was commuting to college instead of dorming and also cryptocurrencies, because I spent alot more time researching and learning about cryptocurrencies than doing delinquent activities. This made me a lot more curious and excited about investing and learning rather than being bored and really changed my mindset in a lot of different ways.

I think this is particularly a struggle with kids who have these kinds of substance abuse or mental health problems in college or high school because there is a lot of peer pressure and social gratification that results in hiding or worsening these problems and giving into drugs and alcohol.

@daddyku Ah, you have a good point there - I think also there's a lot to be said about the lack of activities one has in their area
