We Are In The Kali Yuga Cycle - The Darkest Of All Ages - Still, There's Good News

in life •  8 years ago  (edited)

How does it feel to know we are in the dark ages? We may be out of the so called "dark ages", and we may have all of this technology, but we're in the worst of times right now. We're going through a paradigm shift and every single one of us is infected with it.

This is not the end times - there are no end times. We exist in a Yuga cycle, and though times are tough (Kali Yuga) - we will come out of it and move into better times. However, unfortunately for us - we will never live to see better times - at least not in this life.

Even if we're in a "digital age" I've found the ignorance is appalling. Truth is often buried in the pile of lies, and people for the most part have a hard time having the ability to think for themselves since the internet has a way of steering people into rabbit holes they fall into.

Good news is that we're coming to the end of the Kali Yuga cycle. Despite those who believe are already out of it - I will share with you that this is not true and that we still have about 8 more years of it until it's officially over, but that doesn't mean a switch all the sudden goes off and it's over - it's a process of time and that time will be 1000's of years.

What is the Yuga Cycle?

Yuga in Hinduism is an epoch or era within a four age cycle. A complete Yuga starts with the Satya Yuga, via Treta Yuga and Dvapara Yuga into a Kali Yuga. Our present time is a Kali Yuga, which started at 3102 BCE with the end of the Mahabharata war.

Four yugas
There are four Yugas in one cycle:

  • Satya Yuga, a time of truth and righteousness;
  • Treta Yuga
  • Dwapara Yuga
  • Kali Yuga,

We are in Kali Yuga, What is it?

Kali Yuga (Devanāgarī: कलियुग [kəli juɡə], lit. "age of [the demon] Kali", or "age of vice") is the last of the four stages the world goes through as part of the cycle of yugas described in the Sanskrit scriptures, within the present Mahayuga. The other ages are called Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, and Dvapara Yuga.

Kali Yuga is associated with the demon Kali (not to be confused with the goddess Kālī). The "Kali" of Kali Yuga means "strife", "discord", "quarrel" or "contention".

According to Puranic sources, Krishna's departure marks the end of Dvapara Yuga and the start of Kali Yuga, which is dated to 17/18 February 3102 BCE.

The End of Kali Yuga: 2025

Back in 2012 Bibhu Dev Misra wrote a really well done article claiming that he thinks Kali Yuga will end in 2025. I recommend everyone to read his entire article since there's a lot more to indulge in rather than what I want to post of his here.

In his article he has a a section on the cycle dates:

This Yuga Cycle timeline takes the beginning of the Golden Age to 12676 BC, more than 14,500 years before present, when the Great Bear was in the "Shravana" nakshatra (the Great Bear will advance by 3 nakshtras in every Yuga because of the 300 year transitional period). This agrees very well with the Indian tradition, since the Mahabharata mentions that in the ancient tradition the Shravana nakshatra was given the first place in the Nakshatra cycle.

The timeline also indicates that the ascending Kali Yuga, which is the current epoch in which we are living, will end in 2025 CE. The full manifestation of the next Yuga -- the ascending Dwapara -- will take place in 2325 CE, after a transitional period of 300 years.

The ascending Dwapara Yuga will then be followed by two more Yugas: the ascending Treta Yuga and the ascending Satya Yuga, which will complete the 12,000 year ascending cycle. The Sanskrit text Brahma-vaivarta Purana describes a dialogue between Lord Krishna and the Goddess Ganges. Here, Krishna says that after 5,000 years of Kali Yuga there will be a dawn of a new Golden Age which will last for 10,000 years (Text 50, 59). This can be immediately understood in the context of the Yuga Cycle timeline described here.

We are now ending the Kali Yuga, nearly 5,700 years since its beginning in 3676 BC. And the end of the Kali Yuga will be followed by three more Yugas spanning 9,000 years, before the ascending cycle ends.

So, we have something to look forward to!

I do think the digital age is part of what is pulling us through such dark times, and is a hint that when this cycle ends we'll be moving into the age of space exploration.

This date of 2025 correlates perfectly with Elon Musk and NASA's plan to start sending people to mars;

Musk has been talking about sending humans to Mars for many years. SpaceX has planned to send its Dragon cargo capsule to the planet as early as 2018, using its Falcon Heavy rocket. A human SpaceX mission could supposedly leave Earth in 2024 and arrive on Mars the next year.

Like with everything that Musk does, that timeline is particularly aggressive. NASA has said it plans to send humans to Mars in the 2030s. The cost of such a mission could be tens of billions of dollars.

These cycles have their special purpose. It's not a form of punishment, but the cycles of time of evolution. We are evolving to become our best potentials, and in order to do that we have to be our worst. To try and be your best potential in these dark times is the challenge. Those who do well, are our teachers to help the rest of us. We're in this together.
