I don’t know a person that doesn't want something instantly; instant messaging, instant love, instant dating, instant coffee, instant everything. Like what is there in the world that you can’t get instantly?
And that’s programming us to want things quicker and faster, and we are losing the one human trait that can actually be the foundation for success, which is patience. Patience is the opposite of instant.
Someone’s research suggests that a year later after winning something instantly, so many people lose it or waste it because when we get things without the work, without ethics or values, we don’t know how to value what we’ve gained.
So that’s the challenge. If you want something instantly, know that you will lose it as instantly. If you work towards something, know that you know how to value or cherish it.
Today’s article was really short, but I really want you to be involved in this conversation as we think out loud together about our minds in this world. So please upvote, join the @dailydose community today and I look forward to hearing from you.
