How to develop strategic thinking

in life •  7 years ago

Strategic thinking is a mental process used by a person in the context of achieving success in a game or other endeavors. The result of this activity are thoughts on how to behave in the present to get something in the future.

Before we find out how to develop strategic thinking, let's try to find the answer to a very common question. He, probably, everyone asks himself when he first collides with these concepts.

Principles of strategic thinking
Watch and look for trends

Often we do not see the big picture. This is because too much work has been piled up, which leads to stress and depression.

Ask complex questions

To notice the trends and correctly understand the world around you, you need to ask complex and sometimes uncomfortable questions. Questions are the language of strategy. Only a fool can think with answers.

Look for answers, asking yourself: "Where do I see myself in a year?", "What kind of person do I want to be in three years?", "What will my company be like in five years?".

Here are some more questions that you should ask yourself right now:

"What are my weaknesses?"

  • Do I need to reconcile with them or will I be able to change them?
"What kind of habits are pulling me back?"
  • What activity does my valuable time take?

Put yourself in the shoes of another person
The strategy you have created certainly relies on other people. So, if you misunderstand the characteristics of human nature, then you can make a lot of mistakes.
