In the world today, differences between men and women sometimes clash, hindering what is meant to be done by these two. What seems logical to a woman may seem illogical to a man, and what he sees effective may appear haphazard to her.

When we learn to appreciate this differences, we'll see that men and women can become effective partners who complement each other.
At the risk of overgeneralization, several observations may be made about the differences between the sexes.

  • Meetings and motions:

A woman may make decision differently than a man. Is Susan is prepared to discuss generally on a given curricular, for example she may be stunned by Fred's quick motion to select a particular one. While the other men on the committee vigorously debate bills motion,Susan may feel left out.

In meetings with women, Susan expects discussion that leads to consensus before voting. Pros and cons are discussed and help shape the vote. In such free flowing discussion, however, many may feel a lack of focus. Meandering conversation can frustrate his desire to reach resolution.
The point is, neither approach is better than the other. Both can contribute positively to the decision making process.

  • Conversing and Competing:

For men, conversation can become competitive-a chance for each to drive his point home. Though some women have strong opinions, women tends to wait for someone to invite their input. When a female member of of predominantly male group is not drawn into the conversation, she may feel intentionally excluded. Mean while men usually assume that those who want to speak will take initiative to do so.
A woman in male dominated conversation might need to step in and say, "I wonder if I might say something here" Men can also be encouraged to invite women into discussions. Making the sexes more sensitive to each other's conversation habits will help the work together better.

  • Organizational Differences:

Men and women often organize their work differently. Women are more likely to do work as jigsaw puzzles, solving challenges and dividing up the work as they go. Many men prefer to have a clearly defined set of steps at the outset of a project - to be done in sequence so that progress can be measured at any point.

  • Diplomacy and Disagreement:

Men and women seem to tolerate conflict differently. Men appear able to put up indefinitely with on going personality conflict. Women, on the other hand, become uncomfortable when people are at odds. They want to straightened everything out without confrontations.
